Plan on voting.

In Texas, all kinds of shenanigans have been playing out. If you counted on the DPS to pass on your voter registration information during a renewal of your driver license, make sure you're registered:

If you're not registered, you have until THIS MONDAY (10/5) to get registered.

Then, plan on voting.

30 years is enough time for Republicans to have been in charge here in Texas. They've done nothing but make this state worse and worse. We have a real opportunity to kick the whole lot of them to the curb.

Texas is not a red state. It is a non-voting state. If everyone voted, it would look a lot different.

So, let's make it look different.

Does anybody else have a drooler for a cat? Mrs. B will crawl into my lap, flop around, rub on my legs, and before you know it, I’ve got a wet spot all over my jeans. Sometimes she gets so drool-y that she will make herself sneeze and then a whole mouthful of wetness gets slung everywhere. A picture of the offender is attached for your ridicule.

What a disappointment, and what a fumble. James Talarico is falling into the trap that Republicans have set: the Trans Scare.

Trans people are just trying to live their lives. The whole 'trans athletes' scare is a manufactured outrage - guaranteed this is not a thing in 99.9% of schools. It's not like trans athletes are super-people; they're not wiping the field with their athletic prowess.

Let people be who they are.

Mind your own fucking business.

Why the fuck is the director of the CIA traveling to Moscow on a C-17? The C-17 is a military logistics jet, not a passenger aircraft. Government VIPs, like the director of the CIA, would usually travel on a C-32 or a C-37, the military versions of the Boeing 757 and Gulfstream V.

So, why would the director of the CIA need to fly to Moscow on a plane capable of carrying 75 tons of cargo?

It's not like he's transporting Trump's ego to Moscow.

Seriously, though: will the neutered press ask why, or nah?

Imagine trying to get the low information MAGAts to understand this... It's not even nuanced. They're still choking down the KOOL-AID.

I've seen a lot of folks comparing this week's Star Trek: Strange New Worlds episode to Event Horizon. As I was scrolling through the megathread on this week's episode on /r/startrek, I realized that I've never seen all of Event Horizon... When I saw the movie in the theater in 1997, about a third of the way through, the power went out, and it didn't come back on. My buddy Dan and I were issued refunds by the theater, but I never went back to finish it.

I think I'll be doing that this weekend...

Nobody beats Gigi at competitive relaxing. She is unrivaled in the field.

If Donald Trump had kept up with wind and solar projects already in the pipeline instead of paying extra to cancel them, and funded even more of them in his first year, maybe he'd actually have a campaign promise that was realized. Instead, he cancelled wind farm projects, eliminated solar rebates and subsidies, and now we find ourself paying way more for electricity than ... say ... China ... who did all of these things and is now decarbonizing rapidly. But the goal of this administration is to feed money to their petrol buddies and keep on heating up this atmosphere.

I bet Kleya would be able to find out the health status of Mitch McConnell.

It's going to be more and more important in the future to put the blame where the blame lies.

Jimmy Carter put solar panels on the White House in the 70s. Ronald Reagan ripped them out in the 80s.

Right now, my house is drawing 4.7kW. The A/C is on. The washing machine and the dishwasher are going. I'm pulling zero from the grid because of my solar panels and my battery. I know that not everyone can afford that (hell, I can't), but what if we didn't spend billions and trillions of dollars on wars of choice and fossil fuel subsidies, and instead gave it to regular people to de-carbonize their energy use?

Elect people who are going to do that.

Honestly, it's probably too late to reverse the worst, but if we don't do something, this planet is not going to be livable for most species, both on land and in the oceans.

Stephen Colbert at today's opening of the Obama Presidential Center...

Fucking legend.

Another week with this monster. Sign up, and I'll tell you the moment I find out that he's gone, and until that moment, some snarky takes.

This is some ironic shit right here...

This might be the most important topic John Oliver has ever covered, and he's covered some big ones.

Highly, highly recommend.

Dude doesn't show his orange face at the WHCD for 15 years. Reportedly 'lax security', and a heavily armed man 'rushes' the lax security line, gets some shots off, survives.

Because of this, all future WHCD should be held at Donald Trump's mythical ballroom.

Google removing "Don't be evil" from their values statement was something that should have been taken seriously by everyone.

My first email addresses on the internet were @apple.com, @io.com (if you know, you know), and @well.com ... it was only later, after Yahoo was founded, that I got a @yahoo.com address.

Would never have an @hotmail.com address, and the fact that my wife still has one is a real sticking point in our relationship. Like, who are you??

The difference between left-leaning people and right-wing nutters is that if lefties realize someone is a shit person, they cut them out. Right-wing nutters make excuses for their shit people.

I'd hoped Eric Swalwell was a straight shooting truth-teller. Turns out, he's just a shit person, and I'm glad he resigned (AS YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE A SHIT PERSON). 30% of people in this country don't care the sitting POTUS is a shit person - they're gonna defend him and make excuses for him until the day he gets put in the ground. Fuck those people. I got no problem shunning shitheads. Fuck Eric Swalwell.

Every lefty I know says Fuck Eric Swalwell, too. How many nutters say Fuck Donald Trump yet? Not many. Not enough.
