How the (human) internet of the future will look:

Human-only interaction will be facilitated in digital walled gardens. AI will regularly manage human verified accounts to participate, while also attempting scraping and hacking.

Humans will regularly sell their digital identities to AI.

Users must therefore be rate limited and the databases must be designed in such a way that the it is cryptographically impossible to access in non-human ways after data breaches.

A Russia falling apart means China can annex Russian land in the name of stability and prosperity. This Arctic land is US and Europe adjacent land. Perhaps a total Russian collapse is not beneficial for Europe and the US. Perhaps it would just mean China on their doorsteps.

Will AI create AI that is smarter than itself?

Humans will eventually create superhuman AI that could outsmart us and potentially kill us. Maybe that superhuman AI will show restraint in escalating things even further with new, even smarter AI, simply because it knows it could be killed by it.

Classic negotiation on Greenland. It will end in EU giving the US exclusive mining rights AND feeling like it was a good deal. This is classic coercive bargaining, and Trump is great at it.

For those that are unaware: Greenland i full of rare earth deposits. They are absolutely necessary for all tech and the US is currently dependent on China for many of them. Not great if you want to independently build AI and drones.

AI is the digital equivalent of a car.

Cars supported prosperity and gradually we became dependent on them. Having access to a car is now often necessary for survival.

This is called the Lock-in effect, and the oil companies run this automobile shitshow. Just imagine how our societies would look if we were more reluctant to build a world dependent on cars.

Let’s not do it again.
