Wonder is there's any symbiotic usage with data centers?
Like, could you use the warm water as steam heat for city sidebwalks and buildings or to generate electricity, or to put vertical farming nearby.

New Mastodon attack has dropped and it using @Vivaldi's social. It's auto-reply to all user posts with a phishing link.

I just reported it to you @Vivaldi but the dumb shitstain's handle is

@MASTheIperODON@vivaldi.net

Would you mind sharing the email and IP of this account so I can take appropriate action including reporting to blacklists and blocking them on my own servers?

Who's dumber? Katie Britt or Tommy Tuberville?

It really hurts to endorse an idea from a republican, but this is objectively the right move.

We solve crimes at high rates without collecting incredible personal data on every human at earth.

#PHP devs, what's your favorite way to store admin config setting (database and other basics)

If none of these, what and why?

States like NY and WA are trying to regulate 3D printers in the dumbest ways possible: forcing crazy model detection software to prevent them from being used to create "ghost guns" or anything remotely remembering gun shapes.

This would eliminate all low end 3D Printers and most mid-range, rendering almost every printer ever purchased, illegal.

Stripe has started to enable AI-powered "Smart disputes".

Can't wait to see how this gets abused.

While cleaning a storage room, our staff found this tape containing #UNIX v4 from Bell Labs, circa 1973

Apparently no other complete copies are known to exist: https://gunkies.org/wiki/UNIX_Fourth_Edition

@kagihq A thought - would you ever consider something like what NextDNS does where you can tie a profile to an IP - I.E. - use my token for any searches done from my IP address so regardless of browser or person, or login status, anyone on my network can use it and I'll pay.

NextDNS allows setting the default profile based on your IP which is done by checking a DDNS hostname.

Ahh, the latest service pack update reinstalled CoPilot.
Yuk. Removed. It's like a fucking STD but at least for now its curable

Fucking fucking fuck fuck burn it all down
Hit start and this is what I get.

@pluralistic Nailed it again when he says that most of what sucks with government is actually the government contractors, not the government.

Cory Doctorow's ( @pluralistic ) #Enshittification is solid - he puts a lot of what I've been saying for the last 20 years into solid, concise and well organized case studies.

German Chancellor Merz compared giving up the Donbas to giving up FL. Somehow, I don't think he understands the US very well.

We wouldn't even want anything in exchange for FL, we might offer anyone who'd take it drinks, like you offer the trash collector on a hot day.

Oh no, Nicole returned.

Has the world forgotten? Ukraine de-denuclearized in exchange for US and Russian security guarantees. Russia broke that deal repeatedly. The U.S. should not.

But of course, the current occupant is not an American, but a Orc stooge - a puppet. But not the kind with strings. No, Putin's hand is placed firmly up his ass, controlling his every moment.
