I finally found a hill to die on! Not so much on purpose as just that i spend so much time there

The longest running soap opera in the UK had a trans person in it for about 20 years and no one gave a shit.

Fuck JKR

Normal people do not give a shit how people live their lives.

Fall is still Falling here. Red, orange, yellow, brown.

We went for a guided nature walk yesterday morning, mostly before All The Weather arrived. We got soaked, and got home foundered to the bones, but it was really nice walking around places we knew with a guide who knew the plants.

I got to meet an apple tree, a walnut tree and some crab apple trees that I didn’t know before.

Are you a trans person who struggles to check your chest for breast cancer due to dysphoria? Or do you have strategies to help manage that dysphoria so you can check your chest?

If this is you and you’re up for talking to me for an article, please reply below or email me at quinn@quinnrhodes.co.uk!

Yesterday 31 000 homes in the South West was without power. Climate changewe will cause more frequent & severe storms. Autumn/winter power outages will become far more frequent.
The UK gov issued warnings to have 3 days of supplies.

#WillCycle was ahead of the game: https://www.willcycle.com/better-world/surviving-the-storm/

Go read that WillCycle past, and at very least, get yourself a water filter, like linked to in the post. When you have a water filter, you don't need to worry about running out of water.
The post has a lot of other practical steps you can take to help keep you and your safe, with warm food.

Just remembered the power went off when the washing machine was halfway through a load too, but that's a problem for tomorrow Jules

We have a weasel in the woodpile!!!

Holidayed in Greece many years ago. Accidentally kissed a German man between the shoulder blades thinking he was my topless wife.

Bah! Power just came back on, 20 minutes after I despaired of waiting since six and had a cold shower 😂

@sarahdalgulls @mightyriot fun fact: not to long ago they actually denied that they'll censor pride flags, saying in their defence of censoring pro-trans messages on Strictly Come Dancing that it's because they're controversial so they're not allowed to take a side, where as gay rights aren't.
so that was a fucking lie.

@mightyriot Completely unsurprised. "a BBC spokesperson said: “In line with our editorial guidelines, we advise that no badges, flags, and emblems or symbols are worn or visible during filming, along with clothing with obvious branding or slogans." Interesting statement as we head into compulsory Poppy season

Perhaps I'm being over-optimistic, but Bramble jelly straining overnight, jars and lids sterilising in the oven (and I'll leave them there until the morning) and then, power or no power, I can add the sugar and bottle the jelly (by candle light if necessary)!

A deserted Kelvin Way in the West End of Glasgow turned golden by autumn leaves stripped from the surrounding trees by Storm Boelo as it passes across the city this afternoon.

Water is indeed life. I uncovered the banana olla so I could refill it and for the first time, noticed it crawling with life. The roots of the sweet potato vine have crawled inside the neck and the exterior is spotted with fungi. How awesome to see this clay #irrigation pot integrating itself into the environment. #OllasByOsa @gardening #gardening

it appears that, contrary to nighttime evidence, they can indeed find somewhere on the bed that isn't directly on top of my feet.

(may your saturday involve a comfy place that isn't directly on top of someone's feet. unless you're both cool with that, ofc)
