You guys, live chat online with an AI bot is the absolute worst. 1 of 5 stars, do not recommend. Good thing I'm starting the migrate-to-a-new-domain process now though because so far no joy from tucows and I'm getting suspicious that they're going to blow me off so I've got to switch some things until the 30-day grace period is over and then decide what to do with the 30-day redemption period, or decide if I just want to let the domain in question go. The hardest part of this is the migrating the email part though because I can just get the domain with another extension and site branding will still work with some slight changes. Yeah, tonight is beer night. And going forward, I will be using Porkbun for everything.

I'm biting the bullet and migrating all my #indieweb stuff over to blocks instead of the classic Post Kinds way of doing things. This will definitely be a learning experience but Manual Until It Hurts is really getting to the "hurts" point so it's time to finally do this.

Welcome to 5787 everybody.

Stupid Peloton bikes designed for tall people with long arms. I did a super-short ride this evening because I spent a bunch of time having to readjust the seat so I could mount the bike. I need to just get a mounting block and get it over with. John and I rewarded ourselves with pizza after he was done teaching tonight. Yeah, I know, we should have eaten healthy or something, but baby steps and all that.

Pizza and beers for supper over here.

Dinner ended up being a huge caesar salad with chicken, and that was surprisingly much better than it had any right to be.

Guy whose livelihood depends on deliberate misunderstanding of the well-earned skepticism surrounding AI hucksterism has thoughts, relies on philosophy beloved by basement dwellers as buttress, attempts to create buzzword to capture cope. There Big Think, I fixed your headline. https://bigthink.com/the-present/the-rise-of-ai-denialism/

<sarc> Yes please do hand all the highly important systems that manage all sorts of day-to-day things for our civilization over to AI. It couldn't possibly go wrong. </sarc> https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-security-gap-companies-researcher-sander-schulhoff-2025-12

Mmmm beer. I think I'll have another!

John and I are thinking we're going to do Taco Monday instead of Taco Tuesday for dinner. It's our end-of-year break so, "What eva, we do what we want!"

Eighth night. #StayVisible #Chanukah #mazeldon

No pictures tonight because Shabbat will arrive just after lighting the Chanukiah, but I wanted to drop in to wish everyone who observes a Shabbat Shalom, a Chodesh Tov, and a joyous and peaceful sixth night of Chanukah. For everyone else, I hope you have a peaceful and enjoyable weekend. #Chanukah #StayVisible #Mazeldon #ShabbatShalom

Just a quick note to explain why I'm transliterating Hebrew instead of just typing it: Eloquence, which is a speech synthesizer used by a lot of blind people who use screen readers, really freaks out with Hebrew, to the point where it just announces characters. So it's a lot easier for screen reader users to read if I just transliterate it. #Chanukah #Mazeldon #Accessibility #A11Y

Hey blind hive mind: What's good in accessible microwaves? My husband doesn't have an Amazon account and really doesn't want one, so an Alexa-powered one would be a lower priority. Thanks in advance.

Second night. Chanukah sameach! #StayVisible #mazeldon #Chanukah

Before I move on to the next thing in my day though, I'll say this re: my last shared link. If you're someone whose primary goal is looking out for the users of a website, and your potential client insists on treating you as if you're merely the hands executing their vision, run the other way if you can, because that client isn't really looking for an expert and they will not respect you as such, even if things like offering them a discount and such aren't present. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk, RIP my mentions, and all that.

Hey blind hive mind: Does anyone have that foobar2000 configured to work like Winamp, and if you do, can you send it to me? Thanks in advance.

Whoever at Microsoft decided we needed a global Windows keystroke to launch Linkedin in the default browser, may you spend the rest of your mortal existence walking barefoot across floors made of legos with the pointy bits facing up.

Happy fourth anniversary to the best husband in the world.

It's taken us a while, but we're finally able to continue work on documenting how to use the #WordPress block editor with a screen reader. Everything has been updated to include both Windows and Mac keystrokes, and has been tested with the latest versions of WordPress, Jaws for Windows, NVDA, and VoiceOver for the Mac, along with Firefox and Chrome.

John and I hope this material is useful!
