Stonuts

I've been finding art in a local forest for over 6 months. Some disappear, others are transformed or they are taken by the forest. New ones are still appearing.

Going to see @pluralistic soon at Blackwell's Manchester. I will not be asking a 'thoughtful and insightful' question as I was at the dentist yesterday so can only manage quiet and slurred speech. Spoiler, my questions are often rambling and incoherent.

Thanks to The Wisdom Project by @hotdogsladies I've had a blue Ikea Frakta bag in my daily backpack for a while.

Today it was used to carry a large 9kg(20lbs) box home on the bus !

Booked to see Cory Doctorow @pluralistic at Blackwells Bookshop Manchester on 02 July. I now have over two months to think of a halfway sensible question to ask.

Chrome just removed by Ublock Origin extension as it's 'no longer supported'.

I'm getting mixed messages about alternate browsers. I currently have Firefox and Brave also installed.

Wondering what my best option is now.

Dog walk in the park today, saw a large group of Scarlet Elf Cups, I think.

Wood elves may be hiding nearby.

Question for people who post content with links to their blog post with the same content.

Do you prefer constructive/positive comments on the post here, or on the blog post, or duplicated?
Comments here probably get more engagement and discussion, but blog comments are a little more permanent, maybe?

A witch jar in a Greater Manchester forest.

The jar was not hidden away and could be seen from the footpath. I've confirmed with some local witches that it's ok to post the photo.

Just listened to the BBC Radio 4 Inside Science podcast about satellite junk, featuring @sundogplanets making some great points.

Link here, https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0021jqc
it may be geo-blocked, but there's a download option on the page, and it's also available on the usual podcast platforms.

I can't cope with the sheer volume of things happening in the world, and the rate of change - years of news in a a few months/weeks
Do kids think it's always been like this?

Electric cars in the UK seem to be getting very big and chunky. I assume this is something to do with range, and profit on bigger cars. Or consumer demand/taste or something. I'm just not seeing many little city runabouts at the EV chargers.

I only came here for polite conversation and giggles, but I keep getting educated by the likes of @pluralistic

300 million-year-old fossil lycopsid in the Manchester Museum.

It's been in the museum since It was discovered in Clayton, near Bradford in the 1880s, and is one of the largest in the world.

It's more closely related to modern mosses than trees.

Today was a good day because on the way to the shops, I got to stroke a cat who was on top of a wheelie bin. Nice cat 10/10
