"My greatest concern today, more than the physical one, is the capacity that some nations now have, after studying the minds of our young people with algorithms, to recognise much better than any of us how to influence them," he said, according to Agenzia Nova. He described the result as "a very powerful weapon" that plants in young minds ideas "that they believe to be their own"

....or maybe not.

What the article says is that support for the centrist faction has collapsed and the next election will be between the 'extreme' (fascist) right and the 'extreme' (social democrat) left, with the latter party being broadly supportive of the protesters' calls for improved pubic investment.

What's clear is that the fascists are essentially just centrists with sticks, and they offer no tangible improvement on the centrist offer beyond an authoritarian clampdown on protests.

"British fighter planes will be deployed to help Saudi Arabia defend itself against increasing attacks from Yemen’s Houthi rebels, the UK government announced on Tuesday.
The defence ministry said the deployment formed part of “additional defensive military support” to Riyadh.
“These aircraft will operate in a defensive role and will not conduct offensive strikes against the Houthis.”"

Income from investments should arguably be taxed at a higher rate than income from productive, paid work, and the very least that Healey should do is increase CGT to match.

European countries continue to dump Microsoft.

Arguably ten years too late, but at least the direction is good.

Reasons to dump Meta....

“On one hand, content from candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and his supporters faces delivery restrictions, without any justification or transparency,” the lawyers said. “On the other hand, profiles acting as political operatives for the opposing side ... receive a disproportionate and artificial reach, garnering more views even than global celebrities.”

"What advice would she offer Burnham in Britain? “Renationalise water,” she says. “Invest in the NHS where people experience the state every day. Some form of rent controls. The proud history of council houses reimagined as models for affordable, climate-friendly living. The affordable food basket. Make public transportation very cheap, free even, in overcrowded cities.”"

I'm a victim of antisemitism every day and I've made it clear Jewish people are welcome in my party.
You're a Prime Minister who arms a genocide and locks pensioners up for opposing it."

More London-centric nonsense, this time with a patronising 'trickle-down' twist.

London wants another runway, just like London wanted the Olympics, and London wanted devolution and London wanted the national football stadium and London wanted everything else that London gets while the rest of England crumbles.

The irony here is that former colonialist countries in Europe are now colonies in their own right, complete with political leaders placed to comply with the economic ideology of the USA.

Jonathan Cook perfectly nails the journalists who routinely adopt wife-beater questions whenever they're confronted with someone who is challenging the Establishment's pro-Israel narrative.
