I'm thinking of proposing a #fediverse/social web community track at @COSCUP 2026 (Aug 8–9, Taipei)—think FOSDEM's Social Web devroom, but in East Asia. Before I submit the CFP, I'd love to get a sense of what to call it. What do you think?
(Boosts appreciated!)

You should have a butt load more followers here!

While cleaning a storage room, our staff found this tape containing #UNIX v4 from Bell Labs, circa 1973
Apparently no other complete copies are known to exist: https://gunkies.org/wiki/UNIX_Fourth_Edition
We have arranged to deliver it to the Computer History Museum

Hey Molly,
What are your thoughts about use of blockchain as a database for document authentication among large public organizations like governmental organs? It would be a way for governments to authenticate a document in such a way that can never be denied again. Would it be any better than just a normal intensional database?
Hey, just watched your video on " These Two Cities Used to be the Same ".
Kudos for acknowledging the shortcomings of your own position and limits to your own reach. Good job man.
Thought you'd find this of some interest.

Saw this and I thought why aren't you in this video?
A wide ask here so please boost: my grandfather is trying to get rid of an old business computer, and I was wondering whether any vintage computer people might want it. It was purchased for $50k from The Ultimate Corporation in the early 80s. This ran the Pick operating system, and my best guess is the hardware was originally manufactured by GE or Honeywell. It's about the size of a half-rack and currently lives in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. It has sat covered in plastic in a chemical warehouse for the past 35 years. Where do people usually post stuff like this other than here? Thanks!

Nationality: Dutch
Occupation: Biologist
René:
‘I had been studying the lifestyle of wood ants in the Netherlands for work when I noticed the defending ants of a very large ant’s nest seemed eager to scare me off by spraying acid towards me. Luckily it wasn’t that destructive, and it provided me with a great opportunity to photograph them defending the nest.’
