I wonder what sort of tax break Donald Trump would demand if the Iranians destroyed his Palos Verde golf course while they were "taking out" Los Angeles.

Mine is not a new problem. Not that I paint. But I do use a keyboard, and cats...cats make some decisions I would not make. Also, what are they trying to do when they seek Google Help?

Theater comes in many forms.

Gulf fritillary hanging out in the garden this evening. It doesn't look real--but it is. #butterflies

Buster's celebrating the third day of Christmas with baubles, not French hens. Though I'm sure he'd take them if he could catch 'em. #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon

This is Coco Loco, a 14-week-old foster kitten. At an adoption event last Saturday, a passerby exclaimed, "My god, that's the ugliest cat I've ever seen." I think she's adorable. How about you?

I love my back garden. For more than half the year, it's a weedy mess--but this spring has been cool and mild and the roses have been very happy. We're going to near 100 degrees over the next two days, and most of these roses will cock up their toes. But today, it's mighty pretty.

From my friend Dr. Thanh Huynh Neville: "Elon didn't realize it, but he has encouraged the development of the TRANS car: born a Tesla but identifies as something else."

I was planning to put some appetizers on that ancient, handmade cutting board but Barcelona had other ideas. Does it count as a #caturday image if I post it on Sunday?

They're young yet. They've plenty of time to settle on their careers. They could opt to become red-dot monitors.

Lida Rose. She came to us Oct 10, 2012, as a foster cat (she was two or three at the time). She died yesterday. It took us a year to recognize that she was ours, but she made up her mind within a week that she had found her home. She was a cat of strong opinions. #caturday #CatsOfMastodon

These words drift through my mind so often this week:
"Now if you're ready, Oysters dear,
We can begin to feed.'
But not on us!' the Oysters cried,
Turning a little blue.
After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!'....
I weep for you,' the Walrus said:
I deeply sympathize.'
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes."

I rarely pay much attention to the Los Angeles Times' (my local newspaper) candidate endorsements, but I am horrified that the current owner of the paper overrode the editorial board's decision to endorse Harris and insisted on no endorsement for president this election.

2/ The owners of the three houses to the west of mine are all from Armenia. Across the street and going west, the owners and/or tenants are: first-generation from Mexico, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico. We are all American citizens, but according to Trump, I'm the only one he couldn't deport at will. And I'm a childless cat lady, so I'm disposable too.

I planted 12 dinner-plate dahlia tubers. This is the only one that bloomed. Sigh. #bloomscrolling
