Imagine believing we use cars because we choose to and not 100 years of car and oil companies going out of their way to make cars the only usable option.

Imagine using this belief to defend llms.

Is there any serious attempt to create an anti-ai entity? Because it looks like the open source foundations are embracing AI, maybe it's time to start to move something new and do some lobbying. It could be something general or specific to programming

It is always a pleasure for @regento to help organizations fight for the public good, particularly in the Free & Open Source software movement and digital public infrastructure building. We also enjoy helping organizations that align with the various UN sustainable development goals we support!

BTW, unsolicited endorsement, but I am so pleased to be working with Regento. If you need organizational support with a FOSS org that understands working with other FOSS orgs, Regento has saved me a lot of sanity http://regen.to/

Also @nekohayo and Halle are just great and lovely people

Amsterdam police seize server of Italian internet service provider A/I on US request

"A unit of the Amsterdam police on Tuesday at a data center at the Science Park in Amsterdam seized a server from the Italian internet service provider Autistici/Inventati (A/I). That happened on the basis of a U.S. legal assistance request. A copy of the server's content is now sent to the US."

"we allow AI but not slop" is not a policy, scummvm, that's a delusion

The existence of Firefox and Waterfox implies the existence of Grassfox.

I'm trying Zen Browser, I have to admit I don't find it zen at all so far. 😬 Either I have a giant sidebar that blends with the content, or I hide it and it pops in from time to time and simple actions are hard to make. Add the search/URL popup that appears in the middle when I press Ctrl+T or Ctrl+L that isn't linked to anything else, and I find the experience not relaxing at all, quite stressful actually, like the browser does its best to get in my way while pretending it does the opposite.
