WE NEED SEEDS
The ones we've been planting are no longer yielding well, and our young farmers need fresh, healthy seed to keep growing food and skills. Vegetable, legume and grain seeds would all help. If you can donate seeds or point us to a trusted supplier, please reach out or boost this post. 🙏

"Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished." — Lao Tzu
Our young farmers are learning this firsthand that real growth can't be rushed, only tended to with patience, one season at a time.

But that's exactly what farming teaches. It's not about控制ling every outcome it's about showing up, adjusting, and trying again. Our young farmers learn this firsthand: some seasons reward hard work quickly, others ask for more patience than expected. Either way, they keep tending the soil, because they know real growth in crops and in character takes time. #growyourown #wefeedyou #solarpunk #solarpunksunday #nature #biodiversity #environment #food #SilentSunday #photography #bloomscrolling #soil

Nothing worth growing happens overnight. Our young farmers show up daily through sun, rain, and setbacks because they know patience builds real change. Every seed planted is a lesson in resilience. At Nutritious Foods Uganda, we're growing more than crops we're growing futures.

You can measure a harvest in baskets but you can't measure the growth happening inside each young farmer along the way. Confidence, resilience, and purpose, all taking root alongside the crops.
At Nutritious Foods Uganda, we're proud to be part of that journey.

A good harvest doesn't happen overnight it's the result of showing up, day after day, ready to learn and work. That's exactly what our young farmers do here.
At Nutritious Foods Uganda, we're building more than gardens we're building discipline, purpose, and hope for the future.
Grateful for every bit of support along the way. #growyourown #wefeedyou #solarpunk #solarpunksunday #gardening #nature #biodiversity #environment #food #today #silentsunday @gardening@fedigroups.social @gardening@lemmy.world

From the soil to the soul our young farmers are learning that agriculture is more than just planting seeds. It's patience, teamwork, and hope for a better tomorrow.
Every training session brings us closer to raising a generation that can feed itself and its community.
We're grateful for every hand that supports this journey.

Our club is at a breaking point. We've been renting land for our youth farming project, but rent piled up for over 5 months. We took loans just to clear that debt, and we're still fighting to keep up with rent every month.
We need to buy our own land so this never happens again — so no harvest is ever at risk.
Please support us:

These are the weapons fashioned against our fruit trees. Every fresh leaf is a five-star meal to the neighbors pet goats. They've declared war on our fruit trees, and now they've even moved on to the tomatoes growing inside our recycled tyre planters. This is the reality of backyard farming you celebrate every harvest, but you also battle curious animals every single day. The struggle is real, but giving up is never an option.

Growing tomatoes in small spaces is very important because it helps the future generations gain practical #agricultural skills while they study. It teaches the youths how food is produced, encourages healthy eating habits, and improves nutrition in communities through fresh vegetables. Tomato gardens also make the community #environment greener and can be used as a #learning tool for #science, #biology and environmental studies, helping students understand nature in a hands-on way.

Wow the nature looks just nice but then comes my question cant it be greater to plant trees there? Or leaving the soil that bear would be better. For sure its beautiful but its rare to find a place like that in Uganda .

We recently started this project (sweet potatoes growing ) bug am looking for someone who can help us out by teaching us how to grow these potatoes effectively. The potatoes grew well and healthy looking but they didn't put on any potatoe over there down when we reached the day of harvesting , the we couldn't get anything.

The world is not suffering because of the violence of bad people, but because of the silence of good people. It is not right to remain silent while others are suffering. We have witnessed people in our communities and schools struggling with hunger, and we could not stay silent. That is why we have extended our hands to support agriculture so we can help empower the youth for a better tomorrow
