The guy knows part of his base is very old people who trust videos and don’t know/believe they are made with AI. So, If the guy posts a video of him playing with a tiger, his base (many of them very US style religious), will believe the guy is prophet Daniel or something.
The joke is on everyone else. We are just not the intended audience for those videos that appear so “crazy, unhinged, and a symptom of dementia”.
You all better vote, because #maga is faithful and #Trump is their prophet.

A serious counter intelligence operation that wants to combat online disinformation and propaganda would have flagged all those bots and would be saying what Zelensky is saying.

My antidote to doom is spending time with people I like

It's nice to be surrounded by so many such people

@DeliaChristina sometimes I wonder if we’re just doomed to repeat WWII. Even after all the anti-Nazi propaganda in our movies for literally the last 80 years, somehow it didn’t work??

A buddy of mine works at a place where they did the "please! use as many llm tokes as you can!" to "oh shit this is way more expensive than the people and services we thought it was going to replace" speedrun in just a couple of months.

Their suggestion for reducing token use? "Ask Claude how you can use fewer tokens."

I’d rather be called a moral coward than a genocider cheerleader.

Are you guys still educating white boys like little kings, that they can have everything, and they always win, and they are always listened to, and are always the best and all that?

Because that’s the vibe that’s ruling the country right now and let me tell you: is no bueno.

I'm the lowest tech high tech person in the department.

My desk is covered in binders of papers I've read, neat books, paper tapes, a yellow Utah teapot, sticky notes, 5.25" floppies to image, a text telephone, etc. The table over has UNIX V4 on my PiDP-11, Silent 707/1200, and VT220, with lots of printed terminal sessions and a stack of ed manuals.

As a side effect, I get a pass for using my brain, instead of AI.

So, the US President speech at the UN assembly was pretty much like Apocalypse’s in the X-men.

No, bro, Iran was not building nukes.
Irak didn’t have mass destruction weapons either.
