Lubna Speitan, British-Palestinian author of the Green Party motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the Palestinian victims of ethnic cleansing, apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their zionists tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
It probably sounds crazy, and I haven't been drinking, but I do believe we will prevail and the fascists will lose. They won't entirely lose in the US, because they never truly lose because the oppressor class are themselves fascists.
We will beat them back into the bushes.
I will be re-watching Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home today in honor of Walter Koenig.
This movie had some of my favorite Chekov scenes.

A francophone posted something where they referred to the good people of Mastodon as "Mastochoux" and I am totally in love with the term.
For the non-francophones, "choux" means "cabbages" (and is a kind of pastry) but it is used as a term of affection, as in "mon petit chouchou." See https://untranslatable.ink/phrases/288/chouchou

Hi, I'm JP. I'm new to this Mastodon instance so I thought I'd post a quick intro...
I live in NYC and enjoy tinkering with software and electronics projects, riding my bike and playing bass. I write about these and other things on my site, https://jpreardon.com.
I joined mastodon.social during the great Twitter exodus of '22. I'm looking forward to being on a smaller instance now.
With this election, we stood up against Meta, US, billionaires and many other desiring a downfall of our democracy.
Once again we showed to the world that we'll fight for and defend our democracy.
There is hope, guys. Don't stop fighting against fascism.
Voted early. Piece of shit dirtbag ahead of me was wearing a 'Praise Charlie Kirk' t-shirt.
Don't listen to the polls. Don't listen to pundits. Don't listen to infuencers.
Get your ass out there and VOTE. Because the shitheads ARE VOTING.
In the US, after we vote overwhelmingly and win the election, and then do whatever TF we have to do to defend the result, the next task is to be all over Congressional Democrats. Otherwise all some of them will do is claim our victories as theirs and sell us out.
We absolutely have leaders like AOC and LaMonica McIver who will fight no matter what, and I am profoundly grateful to them. But a lot of the others will have to be screamed at constantly to do the job.
I understand the point of this [formerly serious newspaper that has devolved into fluff] profile of #MarissaMayer (former CEO of Yahoo!) may be rage bait, so I am not including a link to it.
But ouf, reading these words (which have been widely circulating online) has been painful, especially as a mom.
You can't think of 3 qualities that make your child special, so you ask an AI Assistant? NO, NO, NO, NO. UNACCEPTABLE.
I imagine Marielle reading this and my heart breaks for her.
Zuckerberg lost over $70 billion on the Metaverse boondoggle and yet remains as CEO.
Larry Ellison borrowed huge sums to get his one-party media monopoly and is showing signs of financial stress (threats of share sales, selling homes).
The globe is dumping Microsoft & Google's platforms and revenue is slumping for core sales
The financiers of fascism are keeping Musk, Zuckerberg, and Ellison at the helm of their corporations for ideology AND venality.

🥳
these fucking losers defending not voting
either as a right wing psyop to suppress the left vote, or as a sincere representation that some people are really really stupid self-defeating empty whiners
dann them all to hell. exclude them from all leftist spaces. they are the enemy fighting for fascism. whether they do it on purpose, or whether they are just that useless, ineffectual, and so so fucking dumb
Brazilians prevailed against Meta psy-ops and chose not to become a US vassal state.
They showed the world it is possible to beat these criminals. Next Israel. Then the US itself.
#WeThePeople strike back!
Dear slop machine boosters, please don't be upset if I don't reply when you complain about me being mean to your favorite tech hype in my posts.
It's nothing personal. It's just that I may have already muted you. Because my time is precious to me, and I'd rather give it to those whose toys aren't wreaking havoc on the planet, society, and people's brains.
Thank you for your understanding!

LOLOLOL. Apparently each Lunar Starship now requires *22* Starship tanker flights. That means you'd need to launch the world's largest rocket once a day for *more than three weeks* before each landing. And there's never three solid weeks of good weather on the Gulf.
All this is because 1) Musk forced SpaceX to propose a lunar lander that's way too big because he wanted NASA to fund his Mars fantasy, and 2) Starship has way less performance than advertised, due to requiring much heavier structures and heat shields than the initial optimistic design. This is at least partly due to its garbage aerodynamics, because Musk wouldn't let them optimize the shape.
In other words, Starship ain't never gonna land on the Moon. Not in '28, not never.
