This cockatoo was becoming much tamer coming right up to the window to watch everything that I did on the table. Decided to try and feed him and he took to it very quickly to my delight.
An old dirty looking corella that had been digging for worms, was very curious and realised that this was a very good way to scoff lots of food but he didn’t have the same confidence as the cockatoo. Out of jealousy he kept attacking the cockatoo who would drive him back every time.
One day I might get both of them to feed like this! 😊👍

About three months ago I planted two old potatoes that had started to sprout, rather than throw them away. Yesterday I dug them up because the leaves were starting to turn yellow.
I got a nice pile of beautiful potatoes and found that the roots were still quite healthy so I pruned back the leaves and replanted them along with a couple of the most tiny ones.
We tried a couple last night and they tasted beautiful. I am proud to announce a total profit of around $6.50 over three months!

As I grow older, I have achieved a more balanced and settled attitude to life in that I now hate the Melbourne winter about as much as I hate the Melbourne summer. 🤣🧐

Ragdoll on left, Birman on the right. Typical pose for our two elderly cats.

Next comes a copy of John Tenniel’s illustration for Alice in Wonderland except that I have replaced the Cheshire cat with our two cats and coloured the illustration

@mayintoronto one of the things that amazes me the most is that they're spending billions of dollars on equipment to multiply trillions of matrices per second just to produce software that's bad at math

Uh this little guy thinks I have a dog now (it's her)

This story has a happy ending! Her name is Yaya and she travels the country with a long distance trucker. He had let her out to go to the bathroom - she saw a bunny and slipped out of her collar to chase it. That's why I found her in an industrial area with warehouses. After getting her chip scanned she's now back on the road!

She's so trusting, affectionate, and sweet that it was clear to us that she's well loved, so I'm glad she's home

Get your pets chipped, folks!

I have just installed Linux mint cinnamon on my laptop as a dual boot along with Windows 11.
How do I increase the screen brightness when in Linux Mint?
I had no such problems with my old Mac computer when I converted it over to Linux only.

Using Pilot ink as paint wash and drawing ink to illustrate the short and dark poem by Jim Morrison from 1967 called Horse Latitudes. (Album: “Strange Days”)
Syo-Ro used for the sea wash and the text, using Pilot Elite pen and a sable brush.
Shin-Kai used for sketching using Kaweko Sport.
Cheated a bit with Faber Castel watercolour pencils to add colour to the “tiny monsters” and the sun.
Hope you enjoy using ink as watercolour!

Extra alt text: poem is as follows:

When the still sea conspires and armour
And her sullen and aborted currents breed tiny monsters
TRUE SAILING IS DEAD!

It would’ve been my father‘s 100th birthday today. He was deaf towards the end of his life (89) due to the ear damage caused by the heavy blast from the 15 inch guns.
Here is a #watercolour. I did about 10 years ago, partially cheated by importing a photograph of #HMSMalaya, an Elizabeth class #battleship that saw service in both the first and second world wars and making changes to bring it up to how it was during #WW2, such as removal of all th 8” barrage guns.. My #father is visible as a tiny figure a couple of pixels long, clinging to the starboard strut from the rear mast. One of his jobs was to repair radio wiring which had become damaged during shelling. His battle station was in the “spotting top”, visible as a small hut on the rear mast. He was a #signaller and he volunteered for the job because he would rather be there than down sealed in the radio room above the #keel where all the #codes were kept.
All #OurParents in the services did some amazing things during the Second World War; may #GodBless them all.

And burbled as it came”
