Dopple, all suited up for tonight’s walk. At home he walks off leash with us every night, but when camping the little escape artist wears two harnesses and an AirTag. He sits patiently like this though while we put it all on.
I long for the day when the corrupt orange buffoon gets what's coming to him.

My brother-in-law is VERY hard of hearing & recently bought some "captioning" glasses. They have been life-changing for him. Even with hearing aids it was previously very difficult for him to participate in conversations. The difference is very apparent when talking to him now. He let me try them & I was amazed how well they work. As a person speaks, the text is displayed in your field of vision & they can also provide instantaneous translation of many languages to English. #hearing_loss

Not sure if all narcissists are compulsive liars, but it doesn't seem to be a very good combination of traits. https://www.nbcnews.com/world/italy/trump-italy-meloni-begged-photo-fabricated-g7-summit-france-rcna350836
"Hegseth warns NATO allies that some nations will ‘fail’ U.S. defense review"
That a country who put this unqualified party boy in charge of its military would be conducting a defense review of others is laughable. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/06/18/hegseth-nato-defense-review-fail-europe.html
My neighbor works at a hotel here in Arizona and confirms that Canadians have largely been absent this year. Who can blame them? https://ktar.com/arizona-news/canadian-tourism-snowbirds-drops/5863402/
Can someone please explain UK politics to me? I was under the impression that Brexit had become largely recognized as a mistake, yet wasn't Nigel Farage, whose Reform party just made huge gains, the main force behind Brexit? Is this just more of the anti immigrant racism that got Trump re-elected? #ukpolitics #ukelections
500k+ preventable deaths from USAID cuts, fishermen blown to pieces on the open seas because he suspects they're drug smugglers, school girls murdered because his Ministry of War is too lazy to verify where they're dropping their bombs... and we're supposed to care that people are trying to kill him? Not a chance.
3/ I already have some music picked out for the trip, starting with this gem, which ties in nicely with my love of early 80's Ricky Skaggs. Or maybe I should just stick to small town AM radio stations and their local farm reports. Do they still exist? https://www.reddit.com/r/country/comments/1k8qwhk/ricky_skaggs_highway_40_blues/
2/ I already have a pair of 70's AMC Javelins to choose from, but there is a near twin 1963 Rambler Classic for sale just 15 miles from here for $4,000, though it would probably take me a year to make it road-worthy enough for a trip like that. It's very tempting though.
Photos of the WWII Nuremburg Trials need to be sent to Hegseth and every member of the Joint Chief's of Staff today.
I would argue that Donald Trump is the most dangerous man in the world, but this article makes the point that Khamenei's son is much more of a hardliner than his father. I've been saying for years that the elder Khamenei was actually a lot more moderate than his predecessor, but of course that meant nothing to a dishonest buffoon like Trump, who quickly reneged on the nuclear deal Iran made with Obama. Careful what you wish for, Donnie. The Iranians know where you live. https://www.theatlantic.com/international/2026/03/mojtaba-khamenei-iran-supreme-leader/686243/
I'm hoping @ai6yr sees this. He's the man for this kind of stuff.
Might even be south of there, Indio/Thermal, but no matches for me so far.
Sounds like his only choices now are Kid Rock and Lee Greenwood. "Washington National Opera leaves Kennedy Center, joining slew of artist exits" https://www.npr.org/2026/01/10/nx-s1-5671107/kennedy-center-canceled-trump-washington-national-opera-wno
Canada doesn't want a retired American couple, and who can blame them? Beginning to think our best hope is to get California to secede so that we can move there.
2/ I've heard of foxes attacking cats, but it's rare. Judging by the speed at which this fox left I don't expect him to be back anytime soon, which is probably good news for our older cat, Romulus. Rom is missing half his teeth and would probably not fare as well, so I suppose he's lucky that his little brother takes perimeter security so seriously.
6/ ...to be a common BMW problem, something to do with an electronic module on the transmission. I had an independent shop fix this one for about $300.
If you replace the battery on a BMW, you have to take it to a shop and have the car recalibrated to match the new battery. I bought the battery at Wal Mart for a fraction of what the dealer would charge but had to pay a shop $50 to recalibrate. This s true of many high-end European cars btw.
Four months ago one of the rear window regulators...
5/ ...50k miles the driveline started a vibration that seemed like a wheel bearing, but was in fact a central bearing between the front and rear driveshafts. Took me months to find the cause (a NVH phone app helped tremendously) and required removing the entire exhaust system and full length trays that run under the car. Fortunately, the entire exhaust system comes out as a unit, so the job was easier than it sounds.
Not long after that, the car developed an oil leak, which turned out...
