IT HAPPENED AGAIN
WHAT THE HELL NO

rebooting fixed it. Fuck I'm starting to hate computers. It's like a never-ending goddamn prank show

My mouse is now not only a different color on one monitor, but also disappears while typing if it's in the focused window? This is not what I want. I do not understand what I've done.

Caretober Day 1 - among other things I've asked myself to do SOMETHING creative every day. At least one sentence I like. A sketch that I like SOMETHING about.

I ended up doing this in Paint.net while listening to music. It's bad, but I actually kind of liked tweaking the face and adding the little bits of color. It ended up a little more self-portrait than I thought it might.

During the month of October, participants track 5 goals on a daily basis, by filling in the segments of a circle divided into 31 parts—one for each day in October.

If you’re having trouble thinking of 5 goals, fill out the Prepare to Care worksheet in the link. Once you have your 5 goals, label each slice of the Caretober Circle.

Caretober Circle Club is an annual self-care event that takes place during the month of October. It was invented by BlinkPopShift in 2024, to motivate a small community of friends and family to accomplish daily self-care goals.

In 2025 Caretober attracted a bigger crowd, so we made this set-up doc. Now in 2026 the doc has morphed into a shareable zine, and you’re invited to join the club!

(boost? can haz?)

oops I sent a friend too many pictures at once and now Gchat crashes if I try to talk to them

a rewatch of The Batman prompted me to actually watch The Penguin series, which I'd heard was pretty good. A couple episodes in and enjoying it so far. Cristin Milioti, who I already liked (mostly from Black Mirror's USS Callister episodes) has a hell of a lot of presence.

running out of spoons today in part because

* I guess Dr's offices don't ask you about your insurance when you arrive now, it's all during appointment setup? I hate this with the power of a billion suns. Don't ask me to read numbers to you over the phone. That's stupid.

* Vision insurance is JUST for annual exams and regular stuff? And so they had to call me again for my actual insurance? What the fuck is that about? Why is insurance a nonsensical hellscape?

oh I have something else to share

I am on a new project at work now and got assigned a couple of tasks related to standing up our stuff with Unreal Engine as a renderer. And I said "uh, ok, I'll try to figure that out"

Two people have said to me "I heard you had worked on games before? Is that not correct?"

and to each I said "I wrote the dialog for the characters in Hack n Slash, released by Doublefine in 2014"

and they reacted....cryptically

CEN Lively survived its eighth patrol, taking 2 prize frigates, nuking another, and scuttling two gunboats and a corvette. Fleet command was pleased with me and promoted me out of the Corvette game.

Over the course of my patrols I was awarded the Colonial Star, Silver Cluster, and Hero of the Colonial Navy. Also my ship's surgeon got promoted away at one point.

Apparently post-war I got my proper desk and a full Admiral post, which I'm sure I abused.

About to go live in Deck & Conn for CEN Lively patrol 8. We're not dead yet

Just an average patrol I guess. No big.

(this game is fun i like it)

I don't announce much these days, but streaming Deck & Conn for probably the next couple hours. twitch.tv/chateauerin

getting onboarded on a new project with a new computer and once again wondering: WHO ARE THE CHAT SUGGESTIONS IN TEAMS FOR

I do not want to sound like a robot! I do not exist to send a canned "Thanks!"

@aeva you were doing a bunch of SDF stuff a while ago, right? https://youtu.be/iCSrsX4camM

did you know that Sbarro and Subaru share a common root word

oh great, Patreon's decided to fuck around with accounts. I had multiple profiles on there for a reason. christ.
