It's typical that Germany and Italy are on the same extreme-right path they were a hundred years ago...

The odd duck out is France, but perhaps the student protests can still change that.

Can we just stop letting history repeat itself, please?

Mom: "So you're going to tell me I don't need M$ 365 because @libreoffice just opens my Word and Excel files, right?"
Me: "You just answered your own question."
Mom: "Okay, I know how to work with that because you showed me before. I'll figure it out as long as the program is installed."
Me: "It is."

Mom: "I can't open PDFs because I need to install [name of obnoxiously over-promoted program], right? How do I install it?"
Me: "No, just open a PDF before you get worried. The program you need is already on your computer."
Mom: "Oh, so I don't need [obnoxious program]? I can just open my files? That's awesome!"

Day 1 of my mom using Linux:

Mom: "My printer works! It didn't on Windows 11. It didn't want to install the driver because the driver was already installed. And when I uninstalled the driver it still said it was installed. It just works on Linux."

I'm finally no longer sick with #COVID after someone decided to visit without telling me they were feeling under the weather.

Took about two weeks.

Still have some mucus in my throat.

Please, for the love of everything, watch out for one another and just don't go visiting other people when you're feeling under the weather.

Mask up.

#FOSS developers boasting about how much #AI has helped them with their projects need to realise that they're not just leaving the work to the computer.

Their brains are atrophying from every piece of code they didn't write themselves.

The codebase gets more and more incomprehensible to them as the computer writes its own.

The knowledge gets lost bit by bit by byte.

They are undermining their own ability to code by leaving it to the computer.

You're killing your own projects, guys.

Write like you have no critics. You don't have to be the best writer out there, you don't have to publish it for others to read, but at least put your stories to (digital) paper.

Writing is a great mental exercise if nothing else.

In the US, Mitch McConnell has basically been a vegetable on life support for the past three weeks now.

In the UK, Ann Widdecombe died or was murdered or whatever the fuck.

In the US again, Lindsey Graham confirmed dead today.

Are the conservatives finally experiencing their inevitable death wave?

It's a sign of their time coming to an end, surely?
