Is there any agreed collective term for distros like @yunohost or @freedomboxfndn which are specifically designed to turn a PC into a self-hosting server with a graphical interface for setting up services?

I wish every service that has outages/scheduled-maintenance, provided a calendar feed.

- There should be a public one for events that affect everyone
- There should be a private one for events that affect a specific account.

I am reminded of this every time a service I use, sends an email about scheduled maintenance 🙃

Thinking out loud, but I wonder if there is (or could be) an email header that says this email 'expires' after so much time. I picture it as a way that I could quickly clear various daily/weekly reports in one sweep 🧹 😆

Experimenting some more, I *might* be able to programmatically do an "interactive rebase" by carefully crafting the `.git/rebase-merge` directory 🤔

Assuming I do not care about commit IDs (I want to rewrite history after all) is there a #git tool out there, that would let me do a `git rebase` but squish/bucket things by date?

Example:
- Anything older than a year, squash by month
- Anything older than a month squash by week

I am using git to watch changes to some files, but at some point, I do not care so much about detailed older history, only detailed recent history.

Was having trouble finding c2s apps (vs servers)

Lists like https://codeberg.org/fediverse/delightful-fediverse-experience show several server projects for #activitypub , a few that list #c2s but haven't had much luck finding a list of apps that support c2s. I guess it's a chicken/egg problem in many ways. I'd sometimes like to experiment with my own c2s+s2s server implementation, but it's a bit of a larger hurdle if there aren't any c2s desktop/mobile apps to help test with. 🤔

While brainstorming (daydreaming?) about what a graduation from apple and google would look like, I started wondering about how Apple Push Notification service (APNs) (not sure what the android equivalent is called) works behind the scenes. Perhaps something lite could be implemented with custom payloads over #xmpp or maybe it would need to be more of a custom service. 🤔🙃
(I initially thought of #mqtt as a lighter coordination server, but persistence might be an issue there)

From the user perspective, apt vs dnf doesn't seem to change daily use significantly (and maybe less so with docker). Though I sometimes wonder which #linux packages are considered easier to build. I have only built rpm packages, but i find it is challenging to find best practices on packaging (and this is coming from someone who deals with Python and pypi packages 🙃 )

Naively, I would love to do it in a way that is automatic, but somewhat invisible, so that my django app could also run on mysql or sqlite without making too much postgres specific (even if it would have some potential postgres specific optimizations)

Another thing I want to read up on is using #postgres partitioned tables with #django
Seems like that, combined with Composite Primary Keys in Django 5.2, can provide a solution for some time series table in Django without being too inefficient.
Biggest thing to research is how to have Django migrations that play nicely.

I'm already using #forgejo but remembered I can also push public code to #codeberg instead of defaulting to #GitHub which I want to slowly migrate off of.
