If you've invented a useful technology or fun gadget which people genuinely want to use, you don't have to say things like "It's here to stay like it or not" or "You'd better get used to it" or "It's not going away".
I don't recall anyone from Nintendo parading around with the Wiimote screaming "YOU'D BETTER GET USED TO THIS WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!"
If you DO have to use such phrases, maybe people don't actually want it or find it useful?
@ivory Have you seen a scenario where typing is shut off completely?
It happens when I reply to a post and I've got just Compose & Home windows open (and tons of other apps) but every keystroke with Ivory active responds with a system beep/click. Even key commands don't work.
The fix is to quit Ivory and start it back up again. The good news is it brings me right back where I was. The bad news is I can't get it to repeat.
I know I had just placed an emoji - likely chosen via LaunchBar.

@ivory have you seen on macOS where new post windows become non-editable? When it happens sometimes I can click back to the main window & then the post window will respond, other times that won't work but Copy/Paste menus & function keys are operable. One time I seemed to need to force quit Ivory. When it locks -typing anything gets only a system chirp
It seems to be related to when I add emoji's via LaunchBar ⌃space, although it could be a miskeying of the keystroke to bring that up ⌘or⌥space

On the topic of icon shape that @siracusa @marcoarment & @caseyliss have been discussing on #atpfm:
I learned through creating some throwaway icons with @Sketch that if you just take a 1024x1024 square PNG file & toss it into Xcode, the squircle is automatically applied. I wonder if there's some issue with doing this, or you couldn't do it before, or people see the template and assume you need to apply that? Maybe @flarup knows?
Possibly, changing icon shape could be minimal work for Dev’s.
If you click on a link in a Bluesky post, it is now automatically redirected via the domain go.bsky.app before it actually goes to the link in the post. There is no way to stop this or know that it is happening as the redirect only flickers on the screen for a fraction of a second.
Presumably this means Bluesky can now track all link clicking on their platform, including IP addresses, destinations etc?
Or have I misunderstood?
Bluesky is spinning it as a tool for publishers to track referrals, but going beyond the spin it seems to be giving Bluesky access to people's online activity?
@siracusa did you know this setting adds the on / off symbols? Maybe that helps.

@jamesthomson Have you seen a PCalc window go transparent? The tape window is fine along with the calculator keyboard but the calculations are mixed in with whatever window is behind it.
I did restart PCalc and it came right back. I'll boot in a bit but I thought I'd capture it while it's here.
I do have frontAndCenter from @siracusa running but I excluded PCalc and nothing changed.
macOS 14.6.1 here on a M1 iMac.

the other app it happened to is Magnet (rather fitting because that's an windowing app you’d never use I presume)

My bike companion asked me: “Do you have dice on your watch? Can you roll me a D20?"
I hit the digital crown and asked Siri to “open Dice" Which it did flawlessly somehow defaulting to a D20.
later they explained this was helping make a decision to stop for ice cream or not 🍨 😊 👍
