Léo Gausson (1860-1944)

Léo Gausson was a French Post-Impressionist who worked closely with the artists of the Pont-Aven circle. His landscapes are remembered for their expressive use of colour. This is one of my favourites.

Gausson was later mentioned in a letter from Theo van Gogh to his brother Vincent in connection with a proposed exchange of paintings, which was completed after Vincent's death.

While we're on the subject of nice little, poorly advertised, POSIX-isms: `CDPATH`. I've tried many different fancy-fuzzy-search-ing `cd`-helpers. `CDPATH`, in combination with tab-completion, is plenty enough for me. It's right there, ready to go, easy to customise. It's good!

I visited the pitch drop experiment at The University of Queensland today. Started in 1927, it’s the world’s longest-running lab experiment.

Pitch is a highly viscous liquid that appears solid & shatters at room temperature, but continues to “drop” every decade or so. https://smp.uq.edu.au/pitch-drop-experiment
