Federal officials are closing the comment window on a 336-page autism research plan. It could steer priorities at NIH, CDC, and beyond for the next two years. Advocates had to push for more time just to read it.

Meanwhile, prescriptions for leucovorin rose 46% after White House autism claims. But the largest supporting trial was retracted earlier this year.

And in North Carolina, new Medicaid rules for autism therapy are already raising access questions for families and providers.

This isn’t abstract policy. It shapes what gets studied, prescribed, funded, restricted... and who gets heard.

If a scientist isn't able to see data and understand and accept that it disproves a favored hypothesis of theirs, they're no longer doing science. I've seen multiple otherwise great researchers fall into this trap. It's not a new observation, but it's often miscast as scientists needing to be "dispassionate" and "objective" about their data. For me personally, it involves being just as fascinated and excited about being wrong as I am about the times I am right.

For this morning's #workout #music I continue down the Gong rabbit hole (staring deep into their flying teapot). This is from 2025 with a total of zero members shared with the band from Camembert Electronique. More rock and less trippy, but clearly working the same musical territory. Some of it is quite nice, some of it a bit formulaic at this point - a bit like a tribute band, really.
