As I was taking my pills right just now I was overjoyed to discover it was only Saturday. I've looked at my calendar and to do lists dozens of times today, but it was in my head that today was already Sunday. I have very, very little to do tomorrow.

I know it's early days, and I'll likely come to regret saying this. I've got my lists made and everything plugged into my calendar and this doesn't look like that much more work than undergrad. There is absolutely more of it, and it's of a substantially different quality. But this does not portend the wild overwhelm I was expecting.
A few years ago, I would have had to explain why I didn't want my information or likeness included on an organization's social media and perhaps insist (a few times forcefully) that it not be. This is not the case with the journal and that's quite nice.

I intended to sleep in, but that wasn't in the cards.
Oh well. Plenty to do.
I am deeply annoyed that I had to unexpectedly buy a new machine for school, but that will stop when it gets here on Saturday. I am also deeply annoyed that it's not a ThinkPad, but that won't stop until it's replaced with a ThinkPad.
First week of grad school is complete.
Next week is when my office hours for the Journal and the evening reading sessions begin, so I imagine this exhaustion I'm feeling will be a little greater, but I'm not worried about any of this.

A friend of mine and I went to the school of music's faculty showcase tonight, and I'm so glad we did.
Y'all, I went to grad school today.
Doesn't feel very different because the class I had today is cross-listed with undergrad and those of us in the MA program just have to do more work. My class tomorrow morning is the real McCoy, though. Theory and Practice in Composition and Rhetoric, which is much excite.
