The difference being that when Ben is summoned he just gives the summoner a giant hug and some uplifting, motivating advice, then disappears in a puff of pink smoke.

At what point do I just give up? It feels like it should have been a while ago.

Hi fedi folk - It’s lovely to be here! I just moved from mastodon.social to sunny.garden and think it’s time for an #introduction.
I’m Bearina, 30-something from Mannheim, Germany. I make #zines, #ArtistTradingCards and have become a #printmaker recently. I also got back into #photography a few days ago which was my first hobby. I got my first point and shoot camera when I was 12 and fell in love with it before that, using my parents camera and strolling through the neighborhood. I like seeing creativity around me and love to get inspired by other artists.
#SciFi is my jam and I love movies in general. And bears! Lovely creatures.
#DeGoogling right now! Also I’m working on relaunching my website and make it more #IndieWeb friendly and #accessible but also give it a bit more personality. I want to start a blog and share my thoughts. Which reminds me: Words are hard! I try my best but not always succeed.
I’m so excited to meet new people! I toot in German and English.

@TheBreadmonkey Also, and just as important, “John Ternus” sounds kind of like a name that should make a good joke, like he’s going to “Ternus all into robots”. But I can’t think of an actual good joke. Those bastards.
@TheBreadmonkey surprise! You get to test MDMA today
@TheBreadmonkey come to think of it my kids sixth form college has an annual surprise drug sniffer dog day to catch the unwary and slow of foot. This results in hijinks each year.

With all due respect to everyone involved, I do not care about Tim Apple or his replacement John Apple, and am slightly annoyed it's a lead story on almost all news outlets. I remember when tech industry news was contained to special publications or a Saturday afternoon special lighthearted bbc news segment. I don't need to know this stuff. The only thing I'm interested is in how much tax they're paying now. That should be front page news every day. The company is currently valued at $4.01 trillion and yet their horribly convoluted tax payments have regularly fallen below 1% for their global subsidiaries. Whilst they claim this is made up through their overall tax bill (which is compensated in the States) at something like 24%, this has been heavily disputed with back taxes of $14 billion being ordered by the EU Court of Justice paid in Ireland in 2024. However their revenue in Ireland 2025 was $235 billion, so these numbers are meaningless to them. To put it another way - if you are lucky enough to have a thousand dollars saved in the bank and the tax people come along to tell you there's been an international incident with you massively underpaying your tax bill despite raking massive profits out of the country and you have to put it right - that'll be a little over $3.
STICK THAT ON THE FRONT PAGES YOU GHOULS
Bewts.
According to my retirement plan, I should already be a high ranking member of the Illuminati by now
"On it like a scotch bonnet". OK I'll watch this film for that line alone. I'm hoping this will be actually good and not another disaster like Borderlands.

National Surprise Drug Test Day

The thing is, I realise there are extremists on my side of the fence that probably alarm the moderates on the other side of the fence, but my extremists - the ones who I most closely associate with - want peace and love and for the planet to stop being on fire and recycling and for everyone to be nice to one another. Whereas those on the other side want death and destruction and division and fire and blood and for everything to be ash except a couple of white people who live underground in golden bunkers whilst this burning world is littered by the bodies of the dead - malnutritioned and twisted in their final screams. A slick rainbow plastic sea, sickly lapping at a shoreline obscured in shadow by towering factories, pumping huge plumes of acrid smoke into the air, raping the Earth's resources to manufacture infinite products we don't need, sold to us at enormous expense, forced upon us by endless advertising. An infinite cycle of pain.
Anyway - morning everyone, let's get out there and have a great day! Happy Tuesday, everyone! Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday!
Due to personal reasons, I will be in the trees, leaping from branch to branch
