Happy house of Elrond day, it's nearly 10 o'clock in the morning here too.

Just a reminder since the uk has gone and done a transphobia again, please content warn your relevant posts and don't boost posts without a content warning that could cause distress to your trans friends. We know already, we don't need to have it blasted into our timelines, thanks.

#PennedPossibilities 1155: Do you enjoy musicals?

I liked Hamilton, and that musical episode of Buffy...

Eh, generally they're not my thing. I'm glad they exist because I know friends who love them, but my usual feeling is they'd be better without all the singy bits.

Gently booping @gwenthefops and @efi because you both might find it interesting.

I've been really enjoying Cassie Workman is Witchy AF and this episode is a great (and funny) look at the history and influence of Wicca.

So mote it be!

Recording some teaching today, which means listening to my own voice in the edits...voice dysphoria here we come 🙃

Some stuff the other day made me seriously consider leaving the fediverse but no...I'm staying. I have friends here and I'm building new connections.

#ScribesAndMakers 9/22: Promotion day! Promote your work or others!

I'm going to promote Chronicles of the Realms by @Ink_Soul because its epic and vast, emotional and complex, and because I love Ashrah 💜

And I'm also going to promote @gwenthefops and the Fall of Alduin because it's such a well-told and engaging story.

Big meeting tomorrow to advocate for trans rights to senior management. What are the chances I'll get any sleep tonight?

Today I found a ruined church totally taken over by ivy, just in a clearing by a field on a random walk. Of course, i walked around it widdershins, as any good witch would. There was a little graveyard which was absolutely active, both @robinthewitch and I felt presences. We made sure nobody followed us back though!

I am here, doing witchy shit. Back soon!

unexpected benefit of polyamory - having a partner, a girlfriend, and a flirty-friend all consoling me and being very sweet when I'm having a low day.

I...am not used to people caring about me. It's actually quite nice.

Ah, the emotional crash after a busy day.

Depression and dysphoria, my old enemies...welcome back I guess.

A phenomenon I've observed when dining out is what I've come to call the "straight couple effect", where the woman is dressed up, make up on point, elegant...and the man is in blue jeans and a baggy t-shirt like he's just rolled out of bed.

Why is this? Just...why?

Emailed a pole dance fitness studio about trans inclusive facilities and got a good response back (all welcome, toilets and changing rooms not gendered) so...

Looks like your friendly neighbourhood River might be taking up a new hobby soon.

The wisteria seems to have enjoyed the recent rain, this is the third or fourth flowering this year already.

#WordWeavers 24. Which chapter or scene took the longest to get right?

The big finale ritual scene at the end of Enter the Alanaverse - I had to get all six variants of my MC together, give them all something to do, stop the multiverse being destroyed, and write a death scene that actually felt meaningful. It was a lot, and I'm still not sure I got it entirely right.

Laser zapping 8 of 10 done, burning that dyspho out.

Yeah, I'm gonna call it a day, I'm wiped out. See you tomorrow, friends and fiends.

Which character has changed the most since your first draft?

In one story, I needed a coroner character so I popped one in a scene, then he went and developed a personality, so now I've got Harker the gay dwarf Mortalitasi coroner with a Qunari librarian husband who's gonna play a key role in the endgame plot.
