TIL #openBSD doesn't support #bluetooth because it is insecure.
I have mixed feelings - what do you think?

Quick question for those at Innotrans.
Are there any autonomous busses at the show ? Whilst I like trains work-wise I want to find out about busses. Would I be wasting my time if I pop over to Messe ?
Thanks for re-toots and info.
Yesterday was spent watching things overheat all across Europe.
Fortunately the temperature in the UK is dropping, hopefully that relief will spread eastwards.
(By things I mean, people, trains, cameras, etc)
One prototype camera of ours in Belgium the cpu hit 88c - The product version gonna need a bigger heatsink.
Which all reminds me of my conversation with A.E.Currie in https://distributedfutu.re/episode72.html
The turning point in that book series is a single "Hot Summer".
"The largest network outage the UK has ever seen was not caused by Chinese espionage.
It was not caused by sabotage. And it did not involve Huawei. It happened because Ericsson software licences expired. The network didn’t get hacked. It got invoiced."
Hahaha....

My self hosted (over home fibre) podcast host (on an original Raspi no less) has a higher uptime than Github :-)

An interesting thing is happening in my orbit.
Several enthusiastic AI early adopters (who's past works I respect) are starting to publish think pieces about 'how to get the best out of AI' .
One is about how to stop AI cheating at tests, another about how to get repeatable results, a third about how we aren't thinking about AI right and finally one about how dull AI text is to read.
So I think these folks have started to put their enthusiasm aside and started to see the inherent problems.
Corners of the internet are still strangely wonderful.
Late last night I joined @susankayequinn 's "solar punk book club" meeting and had a lovely time discussing "The Ministry Of The Future" with a range of folks from around the world.
I'd seen that it was happening here on the fediverse and decided to read the book and join.
To cap it, we used jitsi.org - written in part by my friend @s .
None of this would have been possible 15 years ago.
Ha, It seems 14Gb isn't enough space to build linux these days - times have _changed_ !
Doing a thing I haven't done for decades.
*** Building Linux from source. ***
Nice to be able to do it - but unusual to need to....
(Fingers crossed)...
I notice that #EMFCamp is happening over the same weekend as #ietf126 (Vienna) - specifically it overlaps the IETF Hackathon.
Would there be any interest in a remote IETF hackathon tent at EMFCamp perhaps with the IETF network bridged to a local (wired) net? https://www.ietf.org/meeting/126/
Now seems like a moment to mention that a previous Labour Prime Minister (mostly) kept the UK _out_ of the Vietnam war https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Kingdom_and_the_Vietnam_War
I wonder if Starmer is as smart as Wilson - I rather doubt it.
Interesting blog on the RNLI stats from the Dottieboard makers:

Their Display complements @outonashout 's bot.
If anyone wants to hear me grumble about Linux Camera APIs ... the fine #fosdem video folks have released the video of my talk yesterday:

I was listening to a report on DW and a person in the street in Berlin said that the mobile networks were also out because of the power cut. Is that right? Is there no power backup for cell towers ?
UK fediverse, what is a good site/app for london transport that tracks you less than Google maps. Organic maps doesn't seem to do it.
