Hey all, QST: I’ll be doing server maintenance on mastodon.hams.social tonight. It’s likely to be down for a few hours while it migrates to a new VM cluster.

Getting a Covid booster while decreasing your SSRI dose: NOT RECOMMENDED.

Ouch.

I still can’t believe that anyone believes this hypocrisy.

At this point, if you still support Trump, I have to assume that it’s BECAUSE of the hatred, not in spite of it.

Not gunna lie, these results surprise me a bit. I didn’t realize I was so much in the minority here.

Ngl, I’m so here for this.

One of those multi-axis spinny things they have at the hardware store for mixing paints, but at home, in the kitchen, for peanut butter.

I dreamed about… packet radio? And some random ham who saw my shoes and told me they weren’t adjusted correctly. My SHOES.

What the hell are you trying to tell me, brain?!

Day two. Symptoms are worse than yesterday (more snot, mostly). Still testing negative, but im not sure I trust those tests anymore. Symptoms are consistent with last/only time I had COVID. Whether it’s COVID or not, my family doesn’t want this so we are on isolation protocols. At least this time, I have my shop. :-)

I don’t like to generalize to all people in a category, but for me at least, Man Flu is a very real thing. I am absolutely miserable when I get well and truly sick, and I tend to make everyone around me miserable too.

I have at least a cold, if not COVID; test was negative this morning, but I will keep testing for a few more days.

Time for rest.

@ai6yr @wd9ewk The closest I've gotten to a signal is this pass from the ISS: https://network.satnogs.org/observations/8672177/ You can see the signal on the waterfall, but it's no where near strong enough to receive. 😕

@ai6yr @wd9ewk

What's a good satellite to test a UHF downlink? I can't tell if weak/no signal is because of the satellite passes I've chosen, or a shitty antenna. Something that's a consistent (not keyed up and down variably) strong-ish signal. Something like a telemetry stream. I'm thinking ISS SSTV or something, but it doesn't have to be amateur radio. Any suggestions?

Hey look, https://network.satnogs.org/stations/2704/ is in testing! @ai6yr

Hey all, I'm going to be on Coffee and Ham Radio tomorrow morning, at 7am Pacific, to talk with them about Halibut Electronics, OHIS, and whatever else comes up. Come join us!

The HHI Contesting Console is now available for Pre-Order: https://electronics.halibut.com/product/hhi-contesting-console/

Two users, one radio. Both users can hear the radio, and either can key it up with their mic audio. Users also have an intercom between them. And a bit more.

Note that Contesting Console requires OHIS ports on the radio and headsets, so look at https://electronics.halibut.com/product/hhi-radio-pro/ and https://electronics.halibut.com/product/hhi-user-pro/ too.

It’s a chorus line of potentiometers.

@ai6yr I'm hearing you on ISS right now. 🙂

I think its funny watching the responses to this post. They generally fall into three categories:

1) Yes-And on the humor. I approve. 👍

2) Mocking me for using AI instead of RTFM. 🤔 (This was returned by a conventional google search, top of the search results.)

3) Defending the AI. 🙄

“AI is going to take our jobs!”

Alright, East Coasters. Waffle House. Is it anything more than just Denny’s with a disaster plan? Is the food particularly better in any way? The thing I primarily know it for is “When WH closes, you KNOW things are bad…” #WaffleHouse
