#InternationalMensDay is on the same day as UN World Toilet Day (look it up!)
I chose to believe that this isn't a coincidence.

Anyway. I just stole this image from someone then forgot where I found it.
Its a man celebrating international mens day by mechanically huffing farts

DID YOU KNOW that #internationalmensday is also the same days the United nations #WorldToiletDay

So be sure to take a giant steaming loaf while moaning about , I dunno, video games or fucking star wars or something.

The fuck? They awarded that to Taylor #boxing

I hope Mike Tyson and Jake Paul mutually unalive each other. That would make up for that *weird* decision.

So I just did the math on #elonmusk 's promise to sack 1/3 of the US governments employees. Thats 6.3 million people made unemployed which would raise the US Unemployment rate from 4.1% to 6.2%.

Welcome to the next recession...

#law wonks, particularly american ones, I have a question. Am I correct in my reading of the ruling that struck down roe vss wade didnt strike down the constitutional basis of it but rather struck down federal supremacy. If that is so , wouldnt any fed abortion ban require revoking that ruling, thus putting roe vs wade back into effect?

Or is this a false hope?

Hey does anyone with a #twitter account able to look up a thread with a bunch of advice and links for women in the US with advice on what to do if the abortion ban comes up. If theres a rollup, I'd like a link cos I've nullrouted that fucking site on my network so it doesnt exist for me anymore.

I've nullrouted x.com on my machine.
My account is locked but not deleted so nobody can steal it. But its logged out, and I've added 127.0..0.1 x.com to my /etc/hosts so that god beshitted website is effectively dead to me.

Fuck their block removal and fuck elon musk

Attn #twitter #x users.
If you're Trans or part of another harassed minority, I'd suggest it might be time to depart the hellsite once and for all. Mastodon is a welcoming place. Musk is removing the block function. This is *very* dangerous if you are undergoing harassment or at risk of it (ie doxing by terfs etc). Please let other folks from vunerable communities know about this. While I myself are in no real danger (cis/hetro/white/male and no real enemies), I think I'll start wrapping up my affairs there. This has gone too far.

(I have pretty savage asthma, so I worry a bit about these dumbass chest viruses)

Hey Australian #MedMastodon , what colds/flus are going around right now. I've been slammed pretty hard by a chest cold, but the RAT tests are coming up negative for Covid and A/B Flus. Are there any telltale symptoms for #RSV ?

Our new album just dropped! Enjoy!

Friend of mine is seeing ads on facebook featuring violence as women as as a salespitch. He's tried reporting it, but the algorithm aint cooperating. If he finds it again, I'll link it here and hopefully we can rustle up some batwing monkeys to go after it. They cant ignore an angry PR trashing mob. #socialmedia #violence

TW: maybe keep away if you have trauma issues around this stuff. ❤️

While its absolutely true that #covid antivaxers have blood on their hands, its insufficient to merely blame them. This is a failure of government science communication. The most potent disinfectant against disinfo is good info. I havent seen any ads (granted I dont watch free-to-air tv) , any big announcements with clear information. Instead we've had ATAGI occasionally popping out of its shell to issue restrictions that even have GPs confused as to what they are even allowed to do. This isn't a new problem, Govt sci communication has been trash since the day #0 debacle with umming and ahhhing over masks (When has the science *ever* been unclear on respiratory viruses and masks?) and then ridiculously withdrawing astra zenica despite a chance of side-effects so low you where literally more likely to get injured driving to the clinic than you where of developing an az side effect. What that did is set off a flurry of antivaxxer bullshit thats never receeded. Even the mRNA vaccines, some of the most robustly tested and safest medications in history have millions of people literally believing all sorts of batshit conspiracy theorists. Antivaxers SHOULD be easy to defeat, they are relentless liars whos claims blatantly defy reality, and yet the government constantly loses the narrative battle against them. This is incompetent.

God help us if the birdflu goes full werewolf on us.
