Visitors on my raspberries (Dock bugs). (Inspiration, @eclectech ?) #SilentSunday

@eclectech And now the challenge: it has trained me to draw my attention by tumbling from the wire above my head. It then swings back and forth before my face so that we can touch nose to beak.
The challenge is: the hat should stay on during this manoeuvre! This is the way to get peanuts of there are more parakeets present!

I want to present a candidate for #sillysummerhatting. Not sure it qualifies as a pet as it is a free living Alexander #parakeet. But the pet shop that sells me the peanuts accepts him s such. He is my very tame special friend and easily recognizable (also due to his handicap: he seems not to be able to swallow properly so he looses a lot of his chewed good). However giving him a hat will be quite a challenge: see the next toot in this thread @eclectech 1/2

@markmccaughrean

Today a first time and very impressive visitor in the tiny house on my #allotment in #Amsterdam : a European hornet (Vespa crabro). This far north they are still pretty unusual. #bugoftheday

Red mason bees have discovered a stack of hollow metal rods stored in the tiny house on my #allotment and turned it into an insect hotel. Today it was unseasonally warm and the traffic was heavy at the entrance.
I hope I do not need the rods this season!

Advancing our knowledge of #insects and in this case beeflies by #photofun : two pairing beeflies. A big darker one and a lighter small one. @markmccaughrean #bugoftheday #allotment

The long arm of #Bigtech:
Got a new phone (had to, banking app no longer supported). So now Android 16 instead of 9.
All kind of pleasant and unpleasant surprises.
In the latter category : Chrome now opens pdf files in Chrome. Saving is only possible to the (Google) drive, no longer locally. Work around (still) possible via print as pdf.

A much larger version of ice formations on branches hanging in water @czarbucks @eclectech (the first image).

Some of the Friends ( @eclectech ) have travelled to Florence it seems? https://tech.lgbt/@Natasha_Jay/115754384754118587

@markmccaughrean So for tomorrow again code orange in Dénia. Although probably not as bad as last year, I hope you do not get stuck there!

Cycling through the main park in #amsterdam , the #vondelpark, I noticed this lady. Close to her some doves, but all around a lot of #crows who are also very interested in the food. But they do not come as near. @czarbucks @jastrow

@bert_hubert We kunnen eigenlijk niet missen wat je nu allemaal doet maar ik dacht toch meteen aan jou.
