That text is by Jason Read, from his book, The Double Shift. I’ve not read it, and don’t know who he is. I just saw it as a meme, and thought it worth repeating. #capitalism

Is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?*

* Not my own.

They accepted my signature one more time! No X for me yet.

I got the email from Colorado BallotTrax that my ballot has been received. Next step is signature check. This is where I worry. My signature is crap. Has been for a while. If they don’t like it I’ll get a letter explaining how to get my ballot “cured”. I’ve got a couple documents with examples of how varied it can be, hopefully that will suffice. It’s been 9 years since we moved to CO and it’s been ok every time since then, but I still worry, every election. Maybe I can switch to a witnessed X.

I dropped off my #ballot yesterday, after finishing the training to be an election compliance tech judge for Larimer County in CO. I’ll be there (in part) at a voter center on Nov 2 & 3 (12 & 14 hours respectively) to help folks showing up to register and/or vote in person, and to make sure nobody tries to fuck it up.

Thought you might like this.🖐🏻

There’s a mildly #progressive initiative on the #Colorado ballot this fall, for a switch to a graduated income #tax instead of the 4.4% flat rate that’s been in place for a while. It would raise additional revenue which would be spent on K-12 education, health care, and early childhood care. Taxpayers making less than $500K would see a reduction. Rs are incensed, ofc, and have placed another initiative on the ballot that’d tie it up in the courts for years if both passed.

A #hobby of mine has been to read books about #neurobiology and #NeuroScience and #consciousness and the like. I’ve read a bunch in the past ≈50 years. A lot has changed in how we thought it all worked. It’s been fun to watch the process. I’m reading The Strange Order of Things, by #AntonioDamasio. I’ve read a couple by him. It’s extraordinary. He’s good. I pause reading every once in a while and feel the new ideas filtering down into the old ones. Kinda mentally #orgasmic.🫠
