The jobs available in the current economy:
Drug trafficker.
Burglar.
Politicians: Not like that.

Repeat after me: There is no such thing as social networks without algorithms. Mastodon, for example, uses a sorting algorithm to order posts by date.
Yes, I know people mean "without proprietary engagement algorithms" but being precise matters, especially when said precision is the difference between correct and wrong.
Look to the Free Software Foundation as an example. They want to rid the world of proprietary software, yet they don't go around claiming to offer a world without software.
Youtube without ads? How?
For a while, Youtube has been trying to stop people using ad blockers. I don't use an ad blocker, yet I don't see ads on Youtube - except for the sponsor ones. How?
I don't watch Youtube in a browser.
Youtube videos don't contain ads, to ensure that you get the ads Youtube thinks will be the most annoying to you, the ads are added by Javascript in the browser. So by not using a browser, I don't need to block ads. The players I use simply don't implement the code to show ads. And how could they? If Youtube documented how they show sds, that documentation would be the first place people creating ad blockers would look.
On Android I use PipePipe (after I got annoyed ny NewPipe).
On my desktop PC, I use my own IPTV streaming player, which uses "yt-dlp -g" to get the stream url.
On my laptop, I use MPV which does essentially the same thing. If you are on Linux, simply installing mpv and yt-dlp should just work. On a Mac, getting mpv to see yt-dlp and getting around the code signing popups can be a bitch. And on Windows I wouldn't even try, unless someone is paying me to.
Funny thing, Twitch streams can be watched the same way, and Twitch also uses Javascript to insert the ads. But because Twitch is live streaming, there is sn animated blue/purple screen saying that here is supposed to be an ad. But it's silent, so I just alt-tab to a different program, until the stream comes back on.
They took our knowledge, our art and our jobs. They took our culture and our climate. They put everything into a digital wood chipper, and attempted to sell the mulch back to us, even though they never paid us a dime for everything they took from us.
"Grand Theft Society" is an understatement.
Did anyone else notice that the politicians fantasizing about AI replacing all our jobs and creating 100% unemployment are the same ones that consider universal basic income to be completely absurd?
Treating jews like a sub-human race that can't be held responsible for their actions is anti-semetism.
We send humans who participate in genocide to The Haque, and then jail them for life (when we don't straight up hang them).
Don't be an anti-semite. Treat Netanyahu and the IDF like we do humans - NOT like some sub-human race that can't be held responsible for their actions.
I often read that nuclear power makes no sense now that wind an solar is so much cheaper.
On its own, that is of course correct. But nuclear power can make sense under certain conditions:
The huge cost of nuclear is mostly building the reactor. So if you need the reactor for a different purpose, and can use the budget of that other project to pay for the reactor, the power itself is reasonably cheap.
In practice, the only such other project is going to be production of enriched uranium, so the military pays for the reactor.
Just something to think about next time a far right party pushes nuclear power. It's always the far right, even if they pretend not to be.
If J. K. Rowling had a dick, there would exist a picture of her with Epstein.
Have you ever really looked at the blooms of horse chestnuts? Yeah me either. Until a month ago I nicked this one, and now I am confused why they are not a staple for florists at this time of the year. I mean look! It even kept quite decently in that makeshift vase. And it wasn't the most beautiful I'd seen, that was on another tree, with even darker red stems, and entirely out of reach for me...
Happy flying day to.those who know Danish slang.
Flowers at the railway station.
Looking at travel headphones. It seems the number one thing every website compares for travel headphones is battery life.
None of my headphones ever had a battery. So, how does adding airplane mode to headphones result in suddenly needing a battery?
Other than airplane mode, the only other difference between regular and travel headphones is weight and folding ability, and that's mechanical features that aren't improved by adding a battery (the opposite, in fact, for weight).
Why are open source people still using Micosoft® Github®?
And why are they still praying that Darth Vader doesn't alter the deal further instead of leaving years ago?
It seems there are a lot of autistic people on Mastodon. And autistic people like trains, right? Yet I don't find a lot of train-related content on the Fediverse.
In an attempt to change that, I have made a railfan Pixelfed account @railfan where I post pictures of trains and infrastructure, mostly from southern Denmark (living near the border, there will be German trains as well).
You can follow Pixelfed accounts from Mastodon, you don't need another account. However, Mastodon only shows the first four pictures, so for large post you may need to select open in browser to see more pictures.

I'm Leeloo, born and living in Denmark.
I'm a software developer. My current languages are in order of preference C#, Swift, Javascript and C. I use Windows at work, everything else at home. Linux gaming desktop, Mac laptop, FreeBSD web server. I prefer keeping work and hobbies separate, and using completely different systems means I never get confused about something not being installed or where I expect it.
When I'm not sitting at the keyboard, I play the keyboard (get it?) Main keyboard is a Roland Juno DS, plus a melodica for when the weather is too nice to practice indoors, and a Keystation Mini 32 for playing around with virtual instruments.
I enjoy kayaking, but I don't get out nearly as often as I would prefer. I live too far from the water, and while my preferred transportation is bicycle or train, I do have a car, but a roof rack is not an option. For that reason, I have an inflatable kayak, which means getting out in the kayak basically needs to be a whole day thing to be worth it.
I enjoy cooking, and post food pictures on my blog.
I am a pre-everything trans woman and what I call "dysphoric asexual", meaning that the asexual part might change if I ever get to have the body that my brain expects. For now, my interest in women is non-sexual, and men is at most a fantasy.
