LA Forward not pulling any punches
#California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed the Plug and Play Solar Act, a bill that will allow anyone — renter or homeowner — to set small panels on their patios or fences and plug them directly into wall outlets without having to navigate any utility permissions. #BalconySolar kits will be sold by major retailers.

Meanwhile, republicans in the US House and Senate have introduced bills to give immunity to fossil fuel companies so they won't have to pay for damages (H.R.8330 and S.4340).
Reporting by LA Taco: ICE agents have been reported to detain (kidnap) people showing know-your-rights "red cards" on the assumption that the person is undocumented. Do NOT show red cards to agents - but DO memorize the information written on them!
The US Postal Service used to be a reliable known quantity. Now, a postmark date may not be the date that a mail piece was first accepted.
The Informed Delivery email used to identify what mail pieces would be delivered today but now they are just "coming soon."
Increased "holiday rates" for shipping packages went into effect earlier this month, and will last at least through January.
This is all to fund tax cuts for billionaires, right?

Today, the #LosAngeles City Council voted unanimously to support the Polluter Pays Climate Superfund Act -#California AB 1243 / SB 684. Taxpayers are currently on the hook for billions of dollars to cover the costs of climate change but it wasn’t us who caused this crisis, it was the big fossil fuel polluters. They should pay their fair share.

I don't want you to make a video in front of your burned-to-the-ground house or your flooded business. I want fossil fuel companies to pay their fare share of damages.
Reporting by Austyn Gaffney, NY Times: “Attribution science...draws a link between specific activities from a company profiting from fossil fuels and specific harms to states and communities,” per a climate law fellow at Columbia Univ’s Sabin Center. “If you cause harm you should be responsible for cleaning it up, it’s as simple as that.”

However you participated in #HandsOff yesterday--in person, virtually, or in your heart/mind--read these words from Rebecca Solnit.
"vWe can write the next chapters of this country's history if we stand up, show up, speak up, stick together, stay committed. I don't know how we'll do it, because we have never been in this kind of catastrophe before, and we're maybe going to do things we never did before."
