This is what I love about the internet.

Slop slop slop slop slop...

Things I enjoy as a maintainer: implementing features, fixing bugs, collaborating with people, learning, improving

Things I hate but now constantly find myself doing: interacting with slop bots from others who refuse to talk with me themselves

Things newly added today: disputing slop security reports from slop CNAs who reply to mails with the output of slop bots. At least successfully. But F*CK this reality.

New T-Shirt day!

Also I just realized that I posted this in English whereas the video is in German 🙈 I didn't even notice 😂

I just watched a very interesting Arte Tracks episode on why we all are reading less, why it is a good idea to change that again, and how some people approach this challenge with reading parties.

Makes me even more happy to read more again, now that I have my ereader always with me.

Long time OctoPrint contributor and friend Jacopo wrote about his experience contributing to OctoPrint & I just have to share this!

Really love his conclusion!

> Working on OctoPrint has shown me sides of open source I never could have imagined when I first got involved: how much invisible work goes into keeping a project alive, how much care an ecosystem of third-party plugins needs to stay healthy, and how much everything ultimately depends on the people behind it.

I have to say, it makes me extremely happy how much I'm reading currently. Now on a documented streak of 28 days (definitely more though). The phone has also become less of the focus during short or longer breaks, which is amazing.

I hope it stays this way... certainly have a nice stack of stuff I want to read (and some stuff I want to re-read).

I spent my childhood and teens as quite the bookworm, and I kinda lost that over the years. Happy to welcome it back! 😊

I also started tracking what I read on Hardcover: https://hardcover.app/@foosel

Late to the party, but after seeing recommendations left and right I started #reading Matt Dinniman's "Dungeon Crawler Carl" on Sunday. Now already a third into book 2 after finishing book 1 yesterday 😅

Good grief, that is a TON of fun! 😊

Previously I binged through the Threshold series by Peter Clines, "14", "The Fold", "Dead Moon" and "Terminus". That was a ton of fun too!

As October is drawing closer, I'm coming to the conclusion that I'd like to repeat my ritual of the last two years where I took part in a daily art challenge throughout October to work on my #pixelart skills.

So, if you come across any lists of interesting looking prompts for each day in October that might be interesting to turn into pixelart, pls send them my way! Keeping my eyes open as well of course.

These were my last two runs:

I switched my Xteink X4 Pro over to CrossInk 10 days ago. Which means I now have stats about my reading. I love stats 😄

Looking forward to how this will look further down the road ^^

This. So much this.

On my way back from getting an MRI (lower back issues, yayyyy, getting old sucks).

And every time I'm in the tube I have to fight the urge to move with the beat.

Had a blast tonight, saw Fabula and In Extremo live on stage 🤘

I said it during my keynote at FrOSCon, I'll say it again here...

Currently the most likely thing to make me give up on maintaining OctoPrint - heck, even doing Open Source altogether at this point - is getting forced more and more genAI output on me left and right while trying to do my job as a maintainer. And I say that even with funding going down every month.
