@GrapheneOS Is this a bug or intended behaviour? It seems to be impossible to restore a backup from another device if you accidentally close the backup screen before entering the original recovery code.

Once that happens it becomes impossible to enter an existing recovery code, and you can then only create a new one, which results in the error that the backup cannot be decrypted because "the recovery code is most likely not the one that was used to make the backup".

Why is it that every Android release gets progressively uglier? Who designed those awful icons? They're wildly inconsistent. It's supposedly "Material 3 Expressive", but drying paint is more expressive than this garbage.

It's a shame @GrapheneOS does not have a way to opt out of pointless redesigns, but I guess that would require tons of manpower.

I need to take some time to better elucidate my feelings of hatred towards LLMs being integrated left and right, apart from being a Gen-X sci-fi nerd who's read way too many dystopian/prophetic novels.

So far the best I've got is a lack of *trust*. I can grow to trust humans on my team. They can grow to become trustworthy. They may be fickle and irrational, sometimes even malicious. But we've had thousands of years to find modes of interaction that work to our mutual benefit. Unlike with LLMs.

Twelve years ago two publishers reached out to me to get me to write a book in the Java sphere. I now regret not taking them up on the offer. I spent a decade working on a great product for a great company, giving it my all, neglecting my personal projects. Then they got acquired and I got booted. The severance package wasn't worth the many sacrifices over the years.

Sometimes I'm a bit slow in realising the important things.
