Right. So, the youngs can't have their phones in schools, access social media under 16 years of age, and now there's discussion of evening social network curfews under age 18. Next, I'm assuming they'll save time and money by banning young people altogether. More cost-effective something something attendance something something productivity. #UKPol

I'm getting more into field recording by the day but knowing what to do with all these lovely WAV files after the event is another matter! So, basically in home studio production of mostly non-musical material. If you know of someone in a UK-adjacent timezone who might offer a little tuition, preferably using FOSS tools (I'm Linux-based), please DM or reply here...

Elevator pitch No.231: fecal bacteria transplants, but in handy snortable powder.

...and, account permanently disabled due to some imaginary infraction that must have taken place during several whole milliseconds. Bysie-bye, business Facebook account, you won't be sorely missed.

With deep reluctance I registered a new account on FB for my tuition thing. They now ask for a 'video selfie' before being allowed through the doors of paradise. OK, so far so Orwellian, but fine. "Look in the direction of the arrow," says Zuck's little minion. But there is no arrow. Waggle head. Try to look harmless. "Your account is suspending pending an appeal!". Wait, I have an account? For three whole seconds before you suspended it for "Violating community standards"? Kafkaesque shite. The first blog post will be on why I'll never use Facebook for my wee business.

The teen just described our cat as "second-hand" and now I have to figure out how disinheritance works. #CatsOfMastodon

Apologies, I'm sure this has been asked a million times before, but is there a symbol for neurodivergence in general that the community (or various communities) accept?

Quite impressed with the accommodation in #Cambridge ... wasn't expecting the bonus cat! She's an elderly sweetheart who comes and goes as she pleases.

Setting off to explore Cambridge for the weekend. If we see the legendary towers of @beasts along the way, we'll wave!

Nefi wonders what all the bags of dirt are for. Actually no she doesn't, they just smell of "elsewhere" so she's explored them a few dozen times already. #CatsOfMastodon #Caturday

Oh no! One of our gold toilets is missing!

I think a good analogy for our new Lord and Saviour, AI, is that of the wood chipper. Insert original content, energy, jobs, creativity, and vast amounts of computing hardware, and watch in awe as undifferentiated slop spews out the other end, ready for use in your latest project. Wa-hey! Enthused now?

I just found out that #RadioFreeFedi is sunsetting. More than a little distraught at the news -- the Comfy channel has been a safe haven for ages...

I have the impression that running the station was a huge burden on the founder and I'm hugely grateful for everything they, and everyone else involved, has done.

If there is a 'what's next' in the same spirit but from other quarters, what will it be? I was too late to muck in on the orginal, but I can volunteer a few hours a week to help out on anything that runs on similar lines in the future.

Love to all the artists and listeners out there.

#FediMusic

I'm talking a friend into joining Mastodon. They're on the "other side" -- which iOS client is best for beginner/daily use? Something on a par with Tusky would be cool.

#FediTips #MastoTips

Is there a training route towards #autism advocacy in the UK? Spending so much time fighting the bloody education system on my kid's behalf that I might as well go the extra yard.

Have to love it when the teen takes a special interest in natural history...

The word 'open' would appear to be doing some heavy contortions here. I hope it doesn't develop a backache.

Ah, because it's available to institutions who pay a Freemium subscription fee? 🤦‍♂️
