Yesterday I noticed two new tears in my merino neck gaiter (I guess the zipper on my jacket was at fault), so these were promptly covered with two twigs of lavender… which came out more like foxglove plants in the end.

Result: yep, these are cracking. But salt content is lacking… might need some dip.
Recipe: mix 85g old rye #sourdough starter, 100g rye flour (type 1150), 100g wholegrain spelt, 160g water, 8g salt, 25g olive oil, let rest for 22 hours at room temperature, notice that it's way too sticky, add about 100g of spelt and 4g of salt and some caraway seeds, knead well, flatten very thin onto parchment paper, cut into small pieces, bake ~12 minutes at 200°C, eat some while letting cool off.
#homeBaking
I have too much #sourdough starter – I feed it weekly, but the bread from one baking usually lasts two to three weeks (partly frozen) at my consumption level. So let's see if I can make rye/spelt wholegrain crackers with caraway seeds from the leftovers.
I already fell into the trap of letting the dough rise for almost a day at rpom temperature while I was procrastinating, so it was very sticky, and I had to mix more flour & salt in, so I have now almost double of what I planned… 😬

Also ich weiß, was ich lieber mag.
I just noticed during an update that #GNOME 50 disabled pasting the selection via middle mouse button (the usual X11 behaviour) by default, but you can get it back by using the GNOME Tweaks tool (Mouse & Touchpad → Mouse → Middle Click Paste), or by using gsettings:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-enable-primary-paste true
Also thanks to all the #Debian package maintainers who use NEWS files to inform their users about such important changes! ♥

I also have to give credit to @winniehell for taking turns with me hand-planing that hard ash flat
I needed a key holder, so a small part of this ⬆️ ash log became one.
The tree stood on a lawn next to the office where I work, and had probably succumbed to the emerald ash borer, whose traces were still visible under the bark. It must have been at least 100 years old, and already very hollow inside. The cut nails were originally intended for one of the "50 boxes" projects which I haven't come around to yet… but I think they fit very well here.

I guess it's the year of fascist Linux on the desktop
