@RecDiffs why are the swears beeped in recdiffs?

@hotdogsladies watching the John Oliver about New College of Florida. Did you go there?

@siracusa @hotdogsladies I haven’t listened to any of the blue lights stuff on recdiffs because I wasn’t through the show yet. I wonder how upsetting this shot was for you

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hksVvXONrIo I feel like I have been making many more mistakes lately and I just chalked it up to me being old. This is validating if true.

3000 people at the #nokings protest in #alameda!

@siracusa @RecDiffs @hotdogsladies Can you talk more about “making ice” and "ice day”? I've never given any thought to making ice or "tending" the ice machine much less it being a multi-hour process. My fridge just makes it? and I get ice when i want it. Am I a fancy duke or something with a ice machine that requires no tending?

@atpfm containers/docker/podman is more like a Linux process with blinders on that allows it to only see certain processes/mounts/files/users/etc. it’s only running that process (and it's children), not an entire OS like a VM. It's much more lightweight than a VM. You can have a container than just contains a single binary and as long as it doesn't need any libraries, it will run.

more Jane Wickline, please #SNL

@hotdogsladies is the plex watchlist better than the letterboxd watchlist? maybe because you can do TV too? heard you talk about it on @RecDiffs and wanted to know more. i use plex but haven't used this feature much. also, talked to a guy a bit ago that uses plex to make playlists of stuff for friends. another interesting use i hadn't heard of

just learned about https://www.doesthedogdie.com/ from @RecDiffs great site!

is there a way to make a new home screen layout in ios 18 for a focus without messing with your current layout?

I would like to post about more technical stuff sometimes, so I made another account @cwalkatron@hachyderm.io to keep this feed lighter.

You think you're a real seasoned IT professional and then you get in a call with your giant parent company's IT people and realize how little you understand about the entire Windows/AD ecosystem.
