Christmas/winter holiday sorted!
Really looking forward to it. I haven't had a proper vacation up to Oregon since last year.

#photoOfTheDay is a drone-down photo of a pair of table umbrellas at a local sports park that caught my eye.
#PhotoOfTheDay "I'm out standing in my field!" Drone shot, probably from a bit under 400' up.
I got these new Knipex smooth-jawed pliers that are some next-level stuff for a tool geek like me. Not only do they set to a certain size via a convenient button that holds them at that size, but one side is pre-marked for metric size and the other has Standard. This is some very well thought-out engineering.
I geeked out so much over this 12" version when I got them last week that today my little 5" version that I ordered showed up.
#PhotoOfTheDay is of the large eroded basin that we camped inside for Desert Rendezvous 2012. The walls along the side were probably 50 feet high I'd guess... The sharp edges hint that this thing likely flooded at times, and was perhaps created by flood waters, but when we were there any rain was a distant prospect.

It's #Caturday and Yama welcomes you placing a pair of dish towels on the dining room table and yes I must sleep right here, right now.
We finished ST: SNW season 4 last night. As has become tradition, the newest season was a mixed bag that included a lot of what I call "novelty" episodes which personally I don't always love. (Hollywood insiders probably have their own term for them.) But to their credit they do maintain character development in those episodes during this season.
There's always been enough good in the show that I always look forward to it. We'll see if they narrow the focus on the shorter final season.
It's #Caturday and Yama loves churus, or maybe I should say Yama loves pretty much any treato she's given. She gets one of these a day (as well as a "purr pop") and she Is suddenly very aware of what time it is if there is food involved.
This morning my wife was prompted to upgrade her MBP to #MacOS 27. She approved as usual & when her internal drive's remaining free space was deemed insufficient, I was forced to assist when the only resolution was to then re-install the old OS, and restore her computer from Time Machine backup.
Why it would need to get to the point of having to blow away everything and reinstall it without checking for enough drive space first is utterly beyond me. Absolutely horrible.
So, my Masto instance is back again, this time after a much more extended time of being quite deceased for an hour or more...
I'll try not to break it a third time today.
#PhotoOfTheDay "Cat and mouse."
It's #Caturday and Yama fits so she sits. She's a very big girl, so she doesn't always fits! 😁
It appears that iOS27 allows you to disable new "Apple Intelligence" features and keep "Siri classic" enabled if you are willing to jump through all the hoops to do so, so I will update & hoop-jump.

#PhotoOfTheDay is a fun binary plaque that I discovered in one of the Santa Clara (aka Silicon Valley) county parks while geocaching. I won't spoil it for you by converting it to ASCII for you. :)
While on my lunch break I went over and started up the PS5 to download the Fallout 76 update because I read that it was going to require that the full game be downloaded with the new version today... The download time shows about a half hour just to download the big file so I'm glad I could get it out of the way now.
God knows how many new bugs we're getting along with all the changes lol.
It's #Caturday and once again Yama has crashed out on the rug and I have to resist the temptation to draw a chalk outline around her. 😁
#PhotoOfTheDay is what appears to be a homemade historical marker at the Gold Hill Hotel on the south side of Virginia City in Nevada. We stayed there while 4x4 trip back a bit after Y2K. For an old funky desert hotel they had a great restaurant.

#PhotoOfTheDay With a three-day weekend coming up here in the US, I thought I'd end this week with one of those "Wait what did I just read?" signs... I have a whole collection of those lol.
#PhotoOfTheDay is of the Ben Jones Bridge on the Oregon coast just north of Newport and south of Depoe Bay. It's one of the iconic and photogenic Oregon bridges designed by Conde McCullough.
