Anyone know how I can filter lemmy links and blue sky bridge posts? People that spam the same post two times or more are an automatic ignore for me.

Traveling to #bangkok #thailand for the first time. Not nearly as cheap as I thought, but nowhere near as expensive as some European countries I've visited. I've not been to any #asian countries as an adult, so this is a cool experience. I've been enjoying the food and visited some temples today. After the jet lag wears off, tomorrow should be a fun day visiting markets. Finishing the trip at a private island resort this weekend. Fun way to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday!

Does #Denver have any #linux meetups? I went to a #python meetup a while back and felt very out of place as a hobbyist as I'm more #sysadmin professionally.

Hmm. So this is probably a silly question I can Google when I get home. But, what’s the easiest way to determine which audio and WiFi driver #opensuse #linux is using on my laptop? I very much want to move back to #arch or #nixos but am being impacted by lack of system sound or WiFi on various distros. OpenSUSE is the only one that “just works”. But I really don’t love #zypper.

I installed #opensuse on my desktop first. Setup was mostly painless. I don’t think I’m ready to wipe #arch and daily drive Tumbleweed, but maybe once I’m more familiar. Still wish I could get #wow and #appimage to work on #nixos, because I really wanted to be there. It was dang near perfect. #linux

Been using #opensuse Tumbleweed on my laptop for a day. So far it seems like everything just works with my 2024 #razerblade14. I’m still learning the OS and it’s not #arch or #nixos but it works, so that’s something. I already miss the #AUR. But my sound and WiFi work without hacks or scripts being run at startup. I was able to get #cinnamon and #Hyprland running side by side without any hassle. #linux

Well, I’m a few hours into using #nixos and wow, I'm quite surprised at how awesome it all is. #nvidia working without fuss, #steam and #lutris installed and games working. Started with #gnome and switched to #cinnamon with just a few config changes and a reboot and literally just worked. I had a little headache with the installer and getting swap with hibernate working, but after that it's been easy. Pretty excited to keep testing, I may have found my new distro. #linux

@ivory Am I crazy or did the Keyboard Shortcuts menu disappear for Ivory for Mac? I used to use the Command+Enter shortcut to Compose a new post. Not sure if it was ever there or my #Tweetbot reflexes kicked in.

Maybe it’s because I grew up in the early days of the internet, but why does everything have to be a YouTube video today? Especially things that could be a 30 second article read, but in video form it’s 10 minutes of fluff. Especially in tech. Use X command for Y result and call it a day. I just mute any person promoting YouTube videos for simple tasks. I don’t need the one minute intro and the four minute outro and the subscribe to my channel thing. Bring back forums and articles please!

@ivory Are there any issues with the latest release? I’ve not used Ivory a ton today and it ate the most battery. I FaceTime’d with my wife for an hour or so and it ate less battery than Ivory over the day of me being in meetings. My phone heated up quite a bit (may be FaceTime). But, thought it might be worth an ask.
