A little tip for the curious:
when you open #ArtCraft (not the Launcher), you're prompted to login and/or create an account. If you just want to take a look, go right-click to inspect and toggle the visibility of the login overlay.
With my curiosity satisfied, I can say that I find ArtCraft utterly useless, and the people behind it pretty shameless that they want your data – and money for a data plan! – after ripping off other people's software.
And no, I'm not an Adobe defender.

Vale Margaret Hamilton.
She was a Software Engineer.
She was the _first_ Software Engineer because she defined the term, Software Engineering:
"When I first came up with the term, no one had heard of it before, at least in our world. It was an ongoing joke for a long time. They liked to kid me about my radical ideas. It was a memorable day when one of the most respected hardware gurus explained to everyone in a meeting that he agreed with me that the process of building software should also be considered an engineering discipline, just like with hardware. Not because of his acceptance of the new 'term' per se, but because we had earned his and the acceptance of the others in the room as being in an engineering field in its own right."
Margaret Hamilton led the Software Engineering team at MIT that created the software that ran NASA's Apollo Guidance Computer. The photo of her standing next to a stack of source code printouts — that's her work, and she was essential to NASA's mission of landing people on the Moon for the first time ever and getting them back to Earth again safely.

Catsup is a reusable grocery list. The whole point of the app is that you don’t want bought items to disappear. You want to slide a knob, go buy bread, then slide the knob back.
All the toggles, buttons, and even the separators are crappily hand-drawn. The font is my handwriting.

Dear Fedi friends,
I want to share a discovery that made my MONTH.
10 days ago, while I was putting together the slides for my presentation at Berlin #FediDay, I noticed a new entry in the @cercle directory (the Mastodon instance set up by the Service Numérique of the French Ministry of Culture):
✨ @MuseeOrsay ✨
Ouiiiiii!
Paris' super prestigious museum - that welcomed 7.3 million visitors last year - is now on the #Fediverse !!! 🥳
Let's give Musée d'Orsay a warm welcome ❤️
TYPA, the printing and paper center in Tartu, has been building a database of its wood and metal type collection. This could help digital type designers today, but they’re using the digital data to make type in physical formats, too. What have you people used to get away from Adobe Lightroom? This is about raw photos but also about properly managing a photo library.
I know about both Rawtherapee and Darktable. I've used both in the past but mostly for one-shot RAW conversion. I've seen that Darktable now has machine learning support (e.g. Segment Anything for masking) which is a plus. But are there other (not necessarily open source) apps for photo libraries? Like what Affinity is for Photoshop...?
So here's my proposal. I didn't write #RubyOnRails or #37Signals and I don't have a foundation or $8,000,000 USD from #DigitalOcean #Dell or others.
But I bet if some of the great minds here on the #Fediverse put there heads together, we could have a Linux distro that installs in <3mins, has Full-Disk Encryption by default, has hotkeys for Fediverse posting, has built-in #torBrowser #torrent #veilid #reticulum #IPFS #Signal #LocalSend etc.... If anyone wants to work on that. Lets talk

Looks like my blog hosting company supports a number of solutions to prevent #AI browsing/scraping, including Cloudflare AI Crawl Control. Does anyone out there have experience with it? I’m thinking of trying the free version on one of my blogs.
I use “self-hosted" #WordPress in a web hosting account.
ugh... I need to make visuals for some slides, and I need to do it by 48h time.
I am not good at art, and I am not desirous of using AI.
is there a really good quick digital sketch creative on here open to an instant commission, who can create:
I will fully take the next few days of your time, and maybe edits next week.
I don't have a work budget for this (I'm supposed to use AI), but save my ass and I will pay whatever your advertised rate is out of my own pocket as I value real work ❤️
apologies for the crazy deadline
edit: no longer needed, found 3, chose 1 that didn't work out, chose a 2nd... looking good 👍️
the output will be creative commons licensed too, I'm just commissioning.
