Me trying to figure out why my embedded app stops working when I burn it into the flash vs. when I dump it directly into the chip's RAM. (Yes, this is a very obscure joke)

Could we finally get rid of the meaningless "www" 3rd level domain? Thanks.

Tak to je super, že mi 29. píšete, že 28. "bude" splatnost vyúčtování. Velmi nápomocné, to nemohu říct.

Finally converted my work machine to NixOS. I don't think I can ever look back. If I ever change distros, it'll have to be something declarative again.

#NixOS

Update: Spilled already. That's good news!

I might be taking up a new hobby. Now we wait a week.

It's been prophesized a long time ago. Chrome is current day's Internet Explorer. Sad.

Could we maybe outlaw companies encouraging people to put plastic packaging in their microwaves? It's crazy that the packaging often just tells you to do that.

Uh oh, is #Wikipedia down?

A short introductory blog post about Fruits & Tails, our little video game.

New note: When you need to pull up a color picker quickly, `zenity --color-selection` is a handy one you probably have already installed.

In today's climate where all tech products have the urge to shoehorn LLM crap everywhere, especially on their front pages, SourceHut's "No AI features whatsoever" selling point is actually very refreshing.

A few months ago I tooted about diffing Word and Writer documents with #Git and #Forgejo with #Pandoc. Today, I finally finished up my blog post about it, including a simple tutorial so that you can set it up for yourself!

These AI slop SEO traps littering search engine results and spewing nonsense about things vaguely related to what I'm looking for are really getting on my nerves.

I'm actually starting to suspect that's what all the tech bros are talking about when they claim using LLMs is more efficient than using a search engine. EXCEPT THAT SHIT WASN'T THERE BEFORE LLMS CAME ABOUT AND SEARCH ENGINES WERE FUCKING USABLE BACK THEN. LLMS DID NOT FIX THIS, THEY ARE CAUSING IT.

I truly cannot overstate how happy I am with my new website. #ZineSSG really is so fast I can't even notice it building it. Even if I just delete the whole directory and rebuild it from scratch (which my script does before rsyncing it to nginx). Plus all the nice features of SuperMD adding neat stuff on top of Markdown while keeping it backwards compatible (so I can just copy-paste my Markdown notes from elsewhere and voilà, it's there, live on the web). Remarkable!

Thanks, @kristoff!

Sex is fine, but has your non-techie SO ever asked you to teach them the basics of HTML and CSS?

On a more positive note, I am (once again 😅) soft-relaunching my website: https://spiffyk.cz/ Not too much on there for now, but I have a blog post cooking and I'm planning on growing my new list of random public notes.

Using @kristoff's amazing #ZineSSG, hosted simply using nginx, uploaded onto there with a trivial rsync script, because I'm finally trying to KISS.

I'm sorry... actually, no, I'm NOT sorry!

Any unsolicited presentation of ANYTHING generated using an AI/LLM WILL be met with my very audible "FUCK YOU!" and my immediate attempt to make it so that I don't have to consume it anymore. Applies to text, images, audio, whether it is the main part of the meidum or just embellishing material. FUCK. YOU.
