Will they even honor the results?

You know you're sleepy when math and time escapes you.
Maybe also a good time to aim for Mastodon 4.7.x or newer.
Mastodon 5.0.x is what they're aiming for by the end of this year or the start of next year. We know typically they like to run three branches – legacy, stable, and current. Technically, there is also nightly, which eventually becomes current, but that's not so much a release as it is development.
Assuming stability is your ultimate goal, you should aim for either the future legacy (4.8.x) or the future stable (4.9.x).
We’ve officially taught rats how to drive tiny electric cars... but we still can’t teach people to vote for what they actually need and want.
Instead, everyone gets so trapped in a loop of trying to guess what everyone else is going to do that they end up voting for what they think others will choose — and we all wind up screwing ourselves over with self-fulfilling prophecies of doom.
At least when rats get behind the wheel, they're just driving straight toward a Froot Loop. They aren't trying to play 4D chess with the other rodents.
I think we have a better chance of Donald Trump choking on a hamburger or experiencing a heart attack or stroke than we do of witnessing Congress doing its job and removing him from office whether before or after the midterms.

I am actually glad I am not an artist.
People like @davidrevoy — I can only imagine spending hours to meticulously draw their art, only for some random to accuse them of using AI.
But then you've got people like myself who have an extensive vocabulary and actually know when to use the word "meticulously," or perhaps know the value of adding an em dash for proper grammar and effect.
It is 2026, soon to be 2027, and those of us who have any valued skills or basic education are all subject to suspicion of being or using an AI.
This timeline sucks!
Is this the world we're in now? 🤦♂️
A.I. will be here long after you're gone. Much like how electricity was here before you were born and will be here afterward. The same goes for computers and the internet.
To say you want a world without A.I. is to say you wish to live in a world before the splitting of the atom. It is not going to be unlearned and forgotten.
It is here. You don't have to like it. Plenty of people did not like the invention of electricity, computers, or even the very internet you're using right this moment.
The internet used to feel like a massive, weird, beautiful tree-house built by eccentric neighbors. Now it feels like a brightly lit strip mall owned by three guys.
