Not a lot to report here. I'm on day 3 of a mild migraine 🙄
Have a clip of one of my hogs 🦔

Good news - I think I've finished painting your bedroom door and doorframe.

Bad news - I'm not sure it's going to close again.

(It was closing properly whilst I was sanding it all down, and trying to contain the dust in the room) 🙄

What does it say about a country when the company Poundland goes into administration?🤔

I can't share details because her work is not published quite yet, but the talk Laurie Rousseau-Nepton gave was sharing details of her research project on Indigenous North American archeoastronomy, and my jaw was on the floor for probably 75% of the talk. Combined with her amazing science communication and storytelling skills, that was the most powerful talk I've ever seen. Wow.

"Steeped in flower and pollen to the music of bees and birds, the stream of the atmosphere became a living thing. It was life to breathe it, for the air itself was life."
The Pageant of Summer

That said, if you’re a band or solo singer who can entertain a very welcoming audience, or know someone who is, and would like to perform in a beautiful garden setting, please let us know, we love to meet new musicians!

28th of Owltober!
New Zealand - A Ruru a.k.a. Morepork was found on the roadside and taken to New Plymouth Vet Group. The owl was checked for fractures, treated with snacks + TLC, and soon released. The hedgehogs dont like wet kibble and it's been raining a few nights recently, and I *still* havent made them a feeding station. 🙄 Then I remembered I had a ridge tile in the garden. Last night I put it in front of the camera and put the kibble inside. I am just loading the footage from the SD card - I think the hogs approved 😄

This evening I lit the log burner and it's gone out! What?! 😱
I'm the person who can have the fire roaring in 5 minutes ... from scratch! I may be experiencing an identity crisis! 🔥
