Battery swapped*, first powerup. The highest this car previously guessed was 120kms range

From dead 40kWh ZE1 Leaf

(Edited to be less confusing hopefully).
Busy day and now very tired.
One Leaf (not shown) measured, inspected, supervised, approved and just waiting for the bureaucrats to tick a box for it to be considered officially fixed.
One Leaf off to the scrappie having had its battery removed to go into:
One Leaf all lined up ready for its bigger battery. Tomorrow we'll see if the forklift's got a lift in it before it gets surgery.

What fresh admin hell is this?!

"Hi, ASB here. <Redacted> has sent you $30.00. To collect, visit the ASB website, search Collect and use code G6Y67K before 24/10/2026."

That's right, 'search' collect, don't click on an easy button. Then put in a code and your phone number and agree to their T&Cs. I messaged the dude and asked him to transfer into my bank like any normal person, he already had my details.

The kicker: This is a payment from someone who runs a cybersecurity company.

Jeez, the number of ways you could injure yourself trying this...

What the fuck are you doing America?

https://youtu.be/M7kB0lis3xg
First half very on point. 2nd half a bit less so. Obvious points but good to see them aired:
The heavier the vehicle that crashes into your vehicle the greater the likelihood you die.
The higher the bonnet* of the vehicle that runs into a pedestrian the greater the likelihood they die.

Heavy, high bonneted vehicles are more dangerous. I feel we should have much much higher taxes on them and possibly ban certain of them outright.

Just the first 3 minutes of this are hugely interesting regarding the finances of AI:

Was feeling a bit bleurgh.
Then I picked up my bass and figured out the bassline from Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain"*. I'm now feeling pleased with myself.

*which all F1 fans of a certain age will know.

Good explanation of how interest rate hikes might affect America differently than previous rate hikes.
Spoiler: its the companies doing the data center buildout which should end up hurting. GOOD!!!!

Turns out I like driving forklifts. I'm about 50% of the way to setting my workshop up for easy Leaf battery swaps. This is the first time the forklift has had its 'ambush' position clear. It can hide there (forks down) and lift up any unsuspecting Leaf which might drive in.
