KOM OG SVING ØLKRUSET TIL SEMAPHORS OKTOBERFEST DEN 23. OKTOBER

To my 30,000 followers: I need your help.

The US midterms are just 15 days away, and they will decide whether a new Congress holds Trump accountable. So I made a video that drives a freight train through Trump’s most costly lie: that other countries pay his tariffs.

Please share it far and wide, and help get people out to vote. Because America has no kings.

In an experiment by safety researcher Matilda Glynn-Henley, six AI agents were tasked with securing a £350 refund for a canceled train trip. Every model failed.
Some invented excuses, threatened lawsuits, shared confidential health data, and one sent 187 emails in 15 days.
The researcher warns of "agentic flooding" if autonomous AI assistants are deployed at scale, potentially overwhelming government agencies and businesses with automated requests.

This is the kind of kill switch us F-35 customers can also expect to see wrt the planes' ability to update electronic warfare and enemy radar location maps.

This happened:

According to several sources (e.g. The Guardian), the US government "pressured multiple countries to withdraw their sponsorship of a leading European conference on #disinformation, with Canada, Lithuania and the EU’s diplomatic service subsequently agreeing to do so."

Google demands every developer's identity in the name of security. Yet more than 50 Play Store apps hiding malware were installed 2.3 million times¹. Meanwhile, #FDroid, which builds every app from source and rejects black boxes, is under threat. This is not about security, it is about control. That is why I don't want to support this joke.

Protip:

When designing a user interface, imagine some old woman using it, say Margaret Hamilton, and she's clicking your app's buttons and saying to you, as old people do,

"Young whippersnapper, when I was your age, I sent 24 people to the ACTUAL MOON with my software in 4K of RAM and here I am clicking your button and it takes ten seconds to load a 50 megabyte video ad and then it crashes

I'm not even ANGRY with you, I'm just disappointed."

"One guy in #Sweden built a #searchengine to fight Google, and it works.

It's called #MarginaliaSearch.

It runs its own #crawler and builds its own #index instead of borrowing Bing's. It has no ads, no investors, and no loans.

What it does differently: it ranks for text-heavy, non-commercial pages. Personal blogs. Old university pages.

The weird corners SEO strangled. Every result tells you whether the page uses affiliate links and JavaScript, and you can filter them out.

There's an "explore" mode that just shows you random sites from the index. It's open source under AGPL, so you can host your own copy.

It's keyword-based, so don't type a full question at it. Type two nouns and see where you land. Every #searchengine now shows you the same twelve #monetizedpages."

On this day in 1973, the Chilean army, backed by the CIA, overthrew the democratic government of Salvador Allende.

They installed a dictatorship that lasted until 1988. Thousands were killed and disappeared.

Keep this is mind when you hear USians talk about freedom and democracy.

"It turns out that winners don’t do chatbots. The graphs show that students with little or no AI use trounce the students who do use the AI:

In these scenarios, students who do not use AI outperform those who do, on average, by around 20 points — equivalent to being around one year of schooling ahead of their peers." https://pivot-to-ai.com/2026/09/08/students-who-dont-use-ai-are-ahead-on-every-measure/

Canada built 44 bridges and tunnels across a single stretch of highway so that animals could cross without dying, and collisions with wildlife there have fallen by more than 80%, with grizzly mothers now teaching their cubs to use the crossings like a route the family has always known
