Are you thinking about implementing DANE yet? I want to learn that next. Did it on M365 tenants, but not my Dovecot/Postfix yet. Seems like updating TLSA records every 90 days when Letsencrypt certs change might be rough.

Pavel Durov should have invested in @delta instead of Telegram if he really believed in the free exchange of information. ;) https://bookofadamz.com/if-pavel-durov-really-believed-in-the-free-exchange-of-information-telegram-wouldnt-exist/

@SomeGadgetGuy Did you review the Oppo Find X8 Ultra? Couldn't find it on your website search. Trying to see if all cameras output DNG or just rear or what.

Sounds like this was written by someone who doesn't know anything about setting up an email server. https://www.xda-developers.com/tools-you-should-use-for-hosting-your-own-email-server/

I don't think @arstechnica understands the meaning of enshittification, @pluralistic ... Not being able to copy/paste text from PDFs isn't enshittification. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2025/02/as-internet-enshittification-marches-on-here-are-some-of-the-worst-offenders/

My home media server is very old. New one is almost ready. Should I...

@matthiasott Have you used @penpot at all yet? I wonder if it's better at web design than the static design tools you mention. I keep meaning to try/learn it. Maybe open source can support CSS standards better.

Ha! Threads censored this post making fun of Google's poor RCS support!

Inkscape opens Corel Draw files while Adobe Illustrator doesn't. Open source to the rescue!

Has anyone tried to make an Android app that:
- Shows in the Share tray for files, photos, videos
- Turns on Wifi hotspot
- Starts a webserver
- Shows a QR code to connect to the Wifi hotspot
- Serves selected files to any device that connects to said hotspot via http

It's pretty easy to do. Just add the below bit of CSS code to body.html:
<style>
/* add labels to toolbar */
.toolbox-button {
width: 7vw;}

.toolbox-button:after {
content: attr(aria-label);
font-size: 0.7rem;
line-height: 0.8rem;
}

.toolbox-icon {
width: 100%; }

.welcome-page-settings .toolbox-button {
display: flex;}

.reactions-row .toolbox-button { width: 30%; }
.reactions-row .toolbox-icon span.emoji { width: 5rem; }
.reactions-row .toolbox-icon { width: 5rem; }
</style>

I got pretty sick of having to tell people on #Jitsi Meet video calls what the buttons at the bottom mean (especially "How do I share my screen?"), so I made some code for my server that makes the toolbar actually usable. #UXdesign #UX #Tech
