If I have absolutely no other source of a stimulant, so about once every three years or so, I might get a cup. I've long made a point of not saying those stupid fucking brand names, and just pointing at the cup I want.

But I really, really do not like anything about their coffee. It's not just the naming.

If they think they need to use Italian words for describing some of them, because it evokes more of an espresso feel, perhaps consider that nobody in Italy uses fluid ounces.

This rant is more about how autistic folk like her fall through the cracks because of unspoken expectations they can't read (as a kid, I was a bit better at this, but remember I did similar things).

It's so frustrating how fundamentally the social model of disability applies here.

There was a question "what type of potato is good for making mash" (loosely translated), and she replied: "edible types".

Now I fully understand that this isn't the answer the teacher was looking foe, considering that specific breeds were mentioned. But it is *correct*.

Yet she received no points for this. She lost some 4-6 points in similar ways, ...

So our #AuDHD daughter has been on ADHD meds for a bit, and is generally very content with that. But her autistic traits are also showing more strongly, which is a mixed blessing.

In school, the good thing is that she gets questions about text better. The bad thing is that she takes them a lot more literally, and she resists writing long answers. Also, topics have to engage her, otherwise she...
