The plan was that it was going to be a Callisto day. So imagine my surprise when Phoenix greeted me as I stepped out of the shower with her leash in her mouth. I reminded her Callisto was going, she ignored me and brought me to the hooks where the harnesses are. And that is when Callisto arrived on the scene covered in mud with no time left for a bath because I needed to be on the road. So yes ... Phoenix was right, it's a Phoenix day after all.

Hello from the Monday side of things. I have work today because it's the dirty south and we don't believe in things like indigenous people's day i guess. Nor in Canadian thanksgiving. To that end I celebrate Canadian thanksgiving by being thankful for Canadians. Happy thanksgiving, Canadians! This house is made up of 50% Canadians so I will be extra thankful for them especially today. But Callisto is the lucky Canadian who is coming to work with me. The workout is done and before I make myself presentable for work I should collect the Canadians and Baloo for some yard time. Have a great day, y'all!

Well the fire alarm is down. The dogs let me back in the house. And I can now say that I got out of my pyjamas and put on regular clothes this weekend. Seriously I hate when I can't do things myself and I have to inconvenience someone. This was not even a disability thing beyond ok yes the hearing dogs will not allow me in the house but physically any short person would have had the same problem. but still! I feel like my friends are always riding to my rescue and while I'm grateful for their help, one day it will just be too much of my bullshit to handle. Anyway, I can go to bed now? lol Guess Ill be calling the fire department tomorrow.

One of my friends who is also one of my colleagues is coming over to play Captain save a hoe. Hopefully he can at least get it down from the ceiling.

This time it is my smoke detector! It keeps randomly going off at weird intervals… Nothing is burning. The fire department just came and replaced them like two years ago, so I'm not sure what's going on. I did get a chair and attempted to climb on it to at least try and disable the smoke alarm, but I am too short and my ceilings are too tall and this is going to be a problem because we might be spending the night outside in the backyard. They are not going to let me go in if it is making awful noise. They do not tell you in adulting 101 who to call when shit like this happens. I mean, obviously if a pipe burst you call a plumber, if you have a gas leak, you call the gas company. All I need is a tall person! Lol.

Well, that was a stupid move! I was just about to start pulling out the things for pumpkin pie when I realized that I used all of the eggs 20 minutes ago when I made a giant container of egg salad to have for breakfast during the week. Aargh! And I don't have cornstarch or arrowroot powder or flax for any kind of vegan egg replacement. This is my very grumpy face.

All right, I decided to create a poll… And it is a poll about going outside. When I say outside what I mean is to go outside because you want or need to be outdoors. I'm not talking about going outside as a means to an end, such as going outside to get into some kind of transportation so you can get to an appointment or to work. The question is how often do you spend time outside for pleasure or as a part of your wellness routine?

Hello sleepy Sunday. The golden retrievers let me sleep in until almost 6:30. Then I realized it was only 66 degrees or around 20 for the rest of y'all and it's finally cool enough to have hot coffee. Because of my brain malformation I have problems regulating my body temperature and if I need to be outdoors when it's above 70 degrees I can't drink hot things or I sweat, not genteel sweating, full on red faced, dripping from the ends of my hair sweating. And since thats not really the impression I want to leave with my colleagues at work, I drink iced coffee for the majority of the year. But once the weather gets cooler and into the 60's I can have hot things within reason. Since it doesn't really matter if I sweat like a pig in the privacy of my own home, I made myself hot coffee today for the first time since April. These trung Nguyen beans taste very different when made with hot water, rather than the slow cold brew method I've been using all year. After the coffee was drunk and the meds were doing their thing I took my workout into the side yard for the first time since maybe March and the sun on my skin and the wind felt really nice. I'm back in the house to get some ice water and then back out so dogs can have their morning romp before I make giant breakfast and get started on chores to prepare for the upcoming week. I hope everyone has had an easy Sunday.

I got dog breakfast from the garage, and as I was letting the girls out into the yard for the final time, I had one of those panic moments where I couldn't remember if I had made sure the gate was locked. So I went to the gate and it was indeed locked, but then I asked Phoenix to come and lead me to the swing so that I could sit down so I made this little video so you could see her guiding me around outside at night. It's probably really bad obviously because it's nighttime, but I thought it was pretty funny.

Ugh why did I wait to get the dog's dinner. I hate going out to my garage at night. *sighs*

Y'all! I have done literally nothing today... OK I did a load of laundry and obviously kept my kitchen clean but other than that and living off leftovers it has been an absolute orgy of sloth. OK well I did workout but still... sloth.... I did not bake pie, or clean the ancestor altar, or groom the dog, or unpack my suitcase.... I read my book, took a long ass nap, spent every moment I possibly could outside on the swing throwing the ball, listening to Phoenix bark and race around, spending time snuggling with Baloo who can actually spend time outside without overheating. It was a beautiful day! Everything else will keep. Had more stew for dinner and dammit if it isn't twice as good the next day! Debating turning the rest of the stew into guiness pie since I'll already be making pumpkin pie tomorrow. We'll see how lazy I am. Speaking of lazy, i need to go to the garage to retrieve dog breakfast or I'll have a riot on my hands. I hope everyone is having a relaxing Saturday.

Filed under… Well, that was not on my bingo card for today! There I was, sitting on the swing, enjoying the day and minding my own business. Suddenly Phoenix appeared at the head of a column of three dogs, grabbed my hand in her jaws, and marched me inside to the front door where she handed me her leash. I was very confused because she was very agitated and telling me that we needed to leave the house. That is when the sound alert warning on my phone went off to tell me that there was a fire alarm somewhere. It was not in my house or she would not have led me back through the house, so I walked back out to the yard, and that is when she stood in front of me and pushed me back inside. So apparently my neighbor's fire alarm is going off in the house behind me. Because her whole aim was to get me out the front door and away from it, which is absolutely what she should be doing… I just didn't expect that on a Saturday morning. So not only does she alert to the fire alarms in my house she alerts to the fire alarms in my neighbors houses. I hope everyone over there is all right! But now since I'm inside, I may as well cook breakfast… And no, I am not going to set my own fire alarm off with my cooking… I hope! And yes, Callisto and baloo were right behind her, surrounding me during this whole event and making sure that I left the area! A whole herd of service dogs! Just what every deafblind person needs! 🔥🦮🧏‍♀️🤟

Part of me is really really hungry and would like breakfast… The other part of me is absolutely enjoying this beautiful amazing fantastic wonderful weather! I cannot cook breakfast while being outside. This is really too bad!

I'm looking to gather some old-time radio. I'd love to have complete collections of CBS Radio Mystery Theater, The Shadow, X-1, Dimension X, and so on. Anyone have suggestions on the best way to gather such a collection?
