Freight Fate 1.9.4 released. Also new manual changes which should make things easier to read now. https://orinks.net/freight-fate/downloads

I have seen a lot of posts lately, because it's Disability Employment Awareness Month, talking about how relatively inexpensive accommodations are for blind people. If we are being honest, a lot of that is not actually true. If employers were actually interested in accommodating people correctly, and if many of us weren't willing to accept less than sighted employees get, accommodations would actually cost more.

I have never worked somewhere where employee benefits portals were fully accessible to me. I have never worked somewhere where all employee trainings were accessible to me. I have never worked somewhere where all the documents I needed were accessible. In reality, most of them, if not pretty close to all of them, were not accessible to me.

The myth that accommodations don't cost much would only be true if employers were following Title I of the ADA. Since there isn't a single employer that is most likely actually following Title I to its fullest, the reality is that much around most jobs is simply far less accessible to us than it is sighted people, if not very inaccessible to us.

We don't actually do our community any favors when we continue pretending otherwise or accepting far less access than sighted people have on the job. If we really want to improve the sad employment rate of those of us with disabilities, we need to start with improving the sad reality that employers simply don't follow the law unless forced to do so. Even better would be if the law required basic access to be provided prior to someone with a disability working somewhere, but that's for another post. Also, the law shouldn't be based on employers being completely responsible for accommodating employees with disabilities. If software companies were actually required to ensure software was usable, not just the WCAG pretend definition of accessible, the myth so many pretend is true would be closer to reality. And, as we know, employers aren't even technically required to follow WCAG and all of its inequities.

Excuse me humans, its Kari,. Mommy's oldest princess, and I'm not having a happy Catterday. Momma is moving us in with her best friend, and she left me in the apartment and took Molly first, and now I'm all lonely.

mmm my house smells like a freshly lit inscent and it smells wonderful.

Hey um, Kari? meowing and throwing yourself at my bedroom door is not, in fact going to get you in here any sooner, it may even result in you being out for longer, #CatLogic #Catterday.

Good is good, I've been praying about this for ages. Please don't think I want this, but I must do something or I'll be homeless.

Moving in with my best friend, can't aford this on my own, so complex is willing to let us merdge our houses in to one, and let me out of our lease.

I did it! I did it! It still doesn't even feel real, but I finally did it! After fighting battled with the Colorado Board of education, I don't have to redo my fingerprints and application. I now have an initial TVI license in the state of Colorado! Now, I just have to climb the ladder and go through the lovely process again in my own state, but I finally made it. I can officially say, at least in one state of the country, I am now a licensed TVI. I finally, finally made it! Time to celebrate!

Picked up a hitch-hiker. Seemed like a nice guy.

After a few miles, he asked me if I wasn't afraid that he might be a serial killer?

I told him that the odds of two serial killers being in the same car were extremely unlikely
