The cold has arrived...

Last night’s ride home from work was cold, but we’re looking at temps below 40°F this morning. I might actually arrive at work and not be overheated. 🥵

I read that with the recent election results we can all expect "Shawarma Law" to start any day now. Hell yeah to that and don't forget the sauce!

Proposing a novel legal attack on LLM-generated source code where you claim it is incompatible with the GPL because the prompts are the source code and the emitted C or Rust or whatever is a compiled binary

I should be able to give away one of my bikes this week, and then another is going away in three weeks... which means I can then get another bike. 😜

Let's keep the good times rolling!

Also this week I had a (large pickup) truck come up next to me at a red light and get into the right turn lane... I kept waiting for them to turn right and when the light turned green they did not... they started going straight, which sucked for me because that's where I have to shift to the right to get into the bike lane were it starts. Damn people...

I did say "Sorry! Excuse me!" as I passed them (with not much space) but again, this is why you walk *facing* traffic.

I've got 8 lights on my bike and 2 on my body. I want everyone to see me at night.

Last night on my ride home (in the dark) I came up on a pedestrian who was walking on the wrong side of the road (so they were not facing me or vehicle traffic) and had to swerve into the road to avoid hitting them.

They were walking at night with no lights and all dark clothing. Their backpack was a lighter color and that's all I saw at first.

I am not blaming the pedestrian and it's just a reminder for me that hazards are all around.

Business on the bottom, party on the top? It just started to rain as I headed out this morning on the bike and I tried to put on my rain jacket but it's also 60˚F so it was too warm. Decided on just the rain pants and it worked out because it barely rained for the first half of the ride.

Here's a more normal haul for me, which fits on the rack perfectly. I did add a plastic trash bag due to the rain.

Ugh... A 78 year old cyclist was killed in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin last week. That makes 10 cyclists killed this year in the state.

Here's what I am imagining for a rear rack extender. A laser-cut piece of wood I can zip tie onto the rack and then use bungee cords to hold things down.

Zip ties can be a pain but I probably won't need this too often. I can always explore other attachment methods in the future.
