In the 60s and 70s my parents had a radio that I liked a lot. When we moved in 1978, they must have discarded it; I don't remember seeing it at the new place. Or did I? And I more or less forgot about it.
A few years ago, when I watched "The Spy”, that espionage thriller miniseries with Sacha Baron Cohen in the main role (and he is *brilliant*!), there was a radio in the background, very similar, but not quite the same model (exhibit A). That triggered nice memories! Since then, I have now and then made an effort to find out what model that was, or rather what model my parents had, without success so far. But today I found it! (exhibit B)
Now I am thinking about getting a used one; there are few available. Or should I build one myself? The schematics should be available. Hm…

Biryani for 800 people.
4 kg ginger.
2 kg garlic.
200 kg mutton (cut 6 pieces from each 500g of meat).
50 kg rice.
32 kg masoor.
80g saffron (8 tolas).
2 kg chilli powder (red).
2 kg crushed chillies (red).
500g whole green chillies.
360g elachi.
250g turmeric (use sparingly of this quantity and use egg yellow to obtain richer colour).
500g jeera.
250g shah-jeera.
250g tuj.
20 kg ghee (use sparingly. If mutton is fatty, less with be needed).
20 litres oil.
1½ litres lemon juice (or vinegar or ½ vinegar and ½ lemon).
40 x 500ml yoghurt.
12-16 doz eggs.
25 kg potatoes.
20 kg onions.
1 kg fine salt (use only as much as is required).
